fantasia - I put no-body to shame. I sat on me butt all day yesterday feeling sorry for myself & watching films. And if I don't do the house today it'll need to be done tomorrow
I don't think we'll have more snow but if the snow that's there freezes then I'll need to push DH out again tomorrow.
Anyway - off for TADA no 2Debts 07/12/2021

Have shovelled another 3 foot long car wide path from drive - And I'm unfit.
Its quite a workout isn't it? I'm very unfit and feel all wobbly after clearing snowy path from back and front plus bit near car plus pavement. At least OH will be able to get out if he needed to for any reason. Gritted it all too for the 4th time. Got more snow and hailstones though. Fed up with this now
:p no grit/sand left in bin again hope the council fill it up - they were useless last year even when we phoned them up to replace it they didn't. Moan, moan off for a cuppa and chocolate biccy and might make a cake later, cherry and almond I think........ yum

Oooo Clootie - you're on a roll. You'll feel really good at the end of the day. Fantastic TADA.
I'm still getting back into getting things done. Have processed and cooked a big bowl of cooking apples someone gave us and they can go in the freezer, washed the kitchen floor and put some stuff up in the loft.
My biggest feel-good, though, is that hubs and I just walked round the block. This is the first day I've felt strong enough so it seems like a big deal. Baby steps.
No snow here. The frost at the front of the house (faces north) is still thick on the ground, but it's a bright, sunny day and that raises the spirits. Really feel for all you poor folk who have the heavy snow. Take great care and keep safe and warm.
Clootie - are you going anywhere nice for your hols? Do we all need to be turning green with envy?

We have an epic amount of snow here, no wonder the nearby A9 has been closed between Dunblane and Perth in both directions for several hours - there were white out conditions, but I believe it has recently opened again.
I live in a cul-de-sac and it is never gritted/cleared by the council. I have absolutely no chance of getting the car out for work tomorrow because the snow is so deep, unless there's a big thaw which looks unlikely.
So it looks as if I'll be going to work by train. Luckily I live within 15 minutes walk of the local station, with a similar walk at the other end.
Soup is pressure cooking at the minute and there is bread baking in the Remoska, and baked apples ready to go in later on.
I hope everyone is keeping warm and that anyone travelling (MG) has made it safely home.

Thanks for all the support guys - I'm getting there
Susan - I'm not off anywhere for me hols - DH is working but is off on Tuesday so the intention is to take the train into Edinburgh to see the Christmas market, get the last of the shopping & then have a nice meal.
The rest of my week will be spent doing all these wee things that are beginning to overwhelm me. Work is going to be incredibly busy for the next few months so not having to feel guilty about stuff in the house will help.
TADA no 2 completed - and also managed to polish & hoover living room & spray some bleachy stugg on a bity of the bath silicone that is not white.
Next TADA will be bathroom & kitchenDebts 07/12/2021

Right, have just discovered that its possible to make rolls with the breadmaker by using the dough setting. however they need to go somewhere warm covered in clingfilm for 40 minutes to 'prove'.
Ideal place for that would be an airing cupboard, but we don'thave one:o.
And i dont want to attempt it without following instructions proplerly.
Anyone suggest a 'warm place' and how 'warm' is 'warm.
Could I use the conventional oven for that if it was on the Slow setting. Or would that be too hot....???????????
Sorry for bombarding with questionsbut i am such a rank amateur (well I had to start somewhere) lol
Groatie Queen - just googled Remoska, that looks like an amazing thing to have in the kitchen. Seems to do just about everything.0 -
Tax Return is done :j
But in doing so have noticed a huge error on my payslip and the lack of P60 so will get onto that next week to find out what's gone wrong! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
A very low oven sounds possible, fantasia, but I don't even have a bm, so don't trust me!
Gemmzie - well done, I'm just trying to finish off today - and you were saying something on Hypno's thread the other day about something really nice that was gluten free, instead of the awful breads.... can you remember?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Fantasia, I love my Remoska and use it almost every day!
Remoska for those who don't know, is a mini oven (Lakeland sell it) which is very versatile, I use mine for all sorts of things and in 2 years have only used my main oven twice - which was the purpose in buying it - to reduce electricity bills. Since I'm only cooking for one, and there is a limit to how much batch cooking can go in the freezer, a smaller oven made sense, and my lodger had one and used it a lot.
I have the standard size, and have cooked whole chickens in it; bread; chops; roast veg; the list is endless. The Grande is better for more than two people. There is a Remoska thread on the OS board which gives a lot of feedback and recipes etc.
I know MG has a halogen oven and they look amazing. Anything that saves power these days has to be a good investment!
