For one awful moment I thought I had sent them to the charity shop ... but no, I stored them somewhere else. They are sheer curtains, so may not be entirely suitable and they are not wide enough :(, but they are a lovely turquoise and IKEA may still sell them and you could join two sets together (They are like this http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90164799 but not bright blue but a colour near to the darkest blue in your wallpaper). Anyway they are 56" x 118" (1.45m x 3m). My sister made me some floor to ceiling curtains and although they are fairly easy, the weight of the material can be a challenge for one person!

As for paying, I'd be delighted if we could do an exchange some sparkly stuff.

KC - Woo hoo! - just checked on-line - they do pitta, naan, white and multiseed. The GF flour is more MSE though. Sainsbos used to be pretty good for GF, DF and no egg - my sis was on a restricted diet and their Toffee DF icecream made her v.happy.

Also have a cherry and almond cake recipe which is fat and DF and made with rice flour.

If we get new blinds we won't need to close the curtains anyway, just need them to dress the window IYSWIM.

And exchanging for sparkly stuff fab idea :)

Wow! Thats very kind, thank you! I couldn't afford the gf prices regularly but as you say, the flour is there - my dietary needs are *really* awkward - vegetarian, intolerant to gluten and cows milk, and detoxing after months of being ill, so trying to eat as much wholefood / unprocessed / organic food as possible - its really tough :o but ooh, cherry and almond

  • KC : Try getting a look at books by Barbara Cousins she does a 'cooking without made easy' plus a veggie one http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0722538979/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0722540221&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=11MM2R3VDCNWZE2891XC

If you want the cherry and almond recipe I can PM you - it is from Harry Eastwood's Red Velvet and Chocolate Heartache cookbook. It is yummy and has a secret ingredient of grated potato (darn, now everyone will know ;) )

I'm not really sure - they decided I had earned £4000-odd in one month but they didn't tax me for it - it's just the total for the year which is wrong so not sure if it even matters!

    Erm, it matters!

If they think you have earnt £4k which you haven't paid tax on, it will alter you tax liability (the amount of tax due) for the year...

You need to get the adjustment put through, and reduce your total income down the the amount which should be assessed on

20% (or 40%) of £4k is a lot - especially if you're not even meant to be paying it :)

    Good morning,

Just taking a break from the ironing (boy's have gone to school so I had to iron uniform, thought I may as well carry on out of the way then)

Dh phoned this morning saying the roads were clear so if the boys walked on the edge of the road they would be fine getting to the bus stop. ds2 wanted to go as he is going for 100% attendance.

The house is relitively tiday this morning just need to sweep kitchen floor and hoover dining/livingroom :)

Well I did'nt make work this morning, spent a hour digging out the BMW and OH's Freelander. Even a four wheel drive was struggling and OH had to reverse out of a 1 way street to get to the main road which was passable. Also cleared the pavement in front of the house so not a bad start. :j:eek:.
We had mega snow falling all night, schools are closed, there is lorries jack-knifed on sli[proads of main motorways so nothing expected to move till 10 this morning.
Hope MG made it home ok, travelling must have been dreadful over the weekend.
  • Here's another one who hasn't managed to get to work.

Car is stuck in deep snow, no chance of digging it out and trains are not running from my station due to signalling problems. So I'll be working from home today, with a short commute from the sofa to the dining room table :).

MG, really hoping you made it back ok.

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.
