I know that feeling - I also want the nice little cover that you can get as well - just can't justify it at all ;(

I keep warning OH (vehemently anti-apple!) that when I replace my laptop it might be with an iPad! :D

Iwon't, because I want a useful, practical tool which will work well with our PC, word, excel, etc, and not be open to all manner of dodgy virus attacks, but he doesn't know that, and it's making him awful nervous! :D:D

  • "Proper" Apple computers - i.e. Macs are lovely. If they weren't so expensive and exclusive, I would have got one when I replaced my laptop.

i-Pads are really more for fun - and £500 is a lot to spend for fun

When I think about it logically, I could buy an awful lot of books and crafty stuff for £500, and I will (whether I buy i-Pad or not!)

Oooops that's why there's always too much month left at the end of the money!

Bitsy thanks for the link - looks really good

Been out with an old friend for lunch. Had a lovely time. Noticed while at bar that people had emails which they were handing over for a free drink so as we have booked to go back have located the pubs website and downloaded a voucher for a free drink next time. Being nosy pays off sometimes.

The book on Make and Mend it giveaway I've bought and it's got a pattern in there for a laptop cover. Not sure what the Ipad one looks like but any chance you could make your own with some nice fabric?

Redsquirrel - thanks for that :D

TDQ - well done on being nosey :T

Am I the only one who thinks Apple are overrated. Sure I've got an iPod Touch that H won at work but half the time I find it a PITA. Not excited at the prospect of an iPhone nor an iPad. Guess who is though in this house <rollseyes> doesn't help that a friend of his worked at the Apple store so using her discount would buy the latest gadget, use it for a while and tell my H she's selling it. Now she's getting rid of her iPad........it's his birthday in 2 weeks so what's the betting he starts angling to get a shed load of cash to buy it from her!

They are NOT overrated. :D iPads are really nifty bits of kit, easier to use than a laptop and lighter too. They are not meant to be big workhorses. iPad 2 starts at just £399 for basic wifi version, so cheaper than iPad 1 on release. Due to my OH's background we have only ever had Apple in our house, PC's do my head in !!!! Long live Apple Mac's I say.

    Proud owner of an iPad.

I want to make a cake stand now thanks to that site! :)

I made one for my friend by buying some lovely plates in the charity shop and I used a china mug and a china teacup for the bits between. Very nice even if I say so myself. I love that website. Another to add to my long list.

Hmm, I have been converted. Mr C thinks PCs are the curse of the world and loves Apple anything. I have a Macbook Pro for work and I now find PC and windows really Naf. Sorry.

Ultimate grocery challenge MG????? Must go back and catch up that sounds rather interesting and believe me this month is going to be really tight!
