ME too for the patternBoiler pot £30.92/£10000

I could have posted what DirtyEpic said
'cept I've read MG's book and forgotten most of it:o

Me too for the pattern thing please - though I ended up doing the button hole by hand. Did something to the shuttle mechanism and the bottom thread just knotted and knotted til I almost threw the bl***y machine out of the window. Did two hours ironing instead to calm me down (I can cope with an iron!)
Will have another go in a couple of days0 -
Only just reclaimed the computer - DS1 has been taught to storyboard short movies, light and film them on my teeny video.
I've now just helped him upload his first two "epics":p onto Youtube - so now I've prized the lappy off him and disracted him with HM Granary Bread and Raspberry Jam ..................I've forgotten what I was going to say :rotfl:
What to report - well we have sown a few more seeds, tidied up some more garden and done a quick clean through of the house (Parentals are due on Friday to start "landscaping" the garden so needed to make the place a little more presentable.
DS1 has cut out his first pair of Pjs - he will be sewing (and modelling) on Saturday.
Anyone else watching Superscrimpers tonight - do you think there is anything they can teach us here on the DFW board?
DS1 and I are up for an Ulitimate Storecupboard Challenge in April - £100 to last us as long as possible (kinda have to do this as I haven't got a huge pot if the car needs any work for it's MOT)

As soon as I return from St A this afternoon with batteries for the camera.
Shame its raining so hard I wanted to use my snazzy new "Retro Swedish" bag today:mad:......................... Ark anyone????
Have we any Primary School Teachers on here? Would like to be able to access a list of what maths and English things DS1 should have covered by the time he heads for High School at 12.
.................... he caught me on the hop yesterday when he didn't know that the enclosing edge of a circle was the circumference. I am sure I knew that from Primary School.
He watched "Superscrimpers" with me last night - and is now pressing me to record a "Make Do and Mend" series for Youtube - with him as Director and Videographer of course.
He says they made fun of the ladies that saved - that frugal living is about living a better life, not being cheap!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen ...................... I think we have another convert:rotfl:

Hoorah to DS1 MG, what a great idea. I also have to make £100 stretch as far as possible in April. I feel a major storecupboard/petrol saving challenge coming on!
I'd also like to put my hand up for sewing info, I have a sewing machine and have made one bag so far....I have tons of fabric but don't know what do with it.0 -

Morning all - just a flying visit before I crack on with a bit of a spring-cleaning-y day I think. I think I will attack one room at a time, for 30 minute bursts, and see how that works out, then I can pop back on here in between bursts for cups of tea and encouragement!
My sewing machine is at Mums at the moment - we sort of share it these days although the only vaguely interesting thing I have done with it in a long while is turn up some curtains inherited from M&D when they redecorated their bedroom. They had some lovely blue curtains which were perfect for my spare room so Mum and I took them up to fit. I do have a fancy for creating some fab colourful cushions for the front room though so might have to drag the fabric box down. Might have a look online for patterns for bags too as you have me all inspired now!I used to make hats and waistcoats.
Grey and murky outside at the moment but not actually raining right now. I have the last few of my Avon orders to get delivered later on so am hoping that it is properly dry by then!
