Hey there Matrix. Sorry I have not been around much in the past few days. It is budget setting time at work and it is turning into the annual nightmare. I had hoped it would be okay, but no. I did not bank on people getting het up about things, and as always it is the personalities which are getting in the way. Sigh. There are days when I loathe my job, with a passion that is quite unprecedented.

On the positive side, my boss is back from her holidays so hopefully that means the atmosphere in the office is going to get a bit better than it has been recently. Mind you, my colleague who tends to go around with a face like a bag of spanners is currently on sick leave at the moment, and the office has been a much more pleasant environment since she has been gone (only since Monday,... and she is due back next Monday. So, not long respite unfortunately.

Didn't get any housework done last night, and don't suppose I will have the energy to do any tonight either. Work keeps taking all my energy away... and I am annoyed with it! I need a big lottery win!!

MG if you are around, can you spare 60 seconds to let us know you are ok please, and that you haven't abandoned us.
Know you are busy etc with everything, but a lot of us are concerned hon x

Feeling really positive in a totally negative situation. Something very different for me. But it feels good. So am just going to go with the mood and see where it takes me.

What a gorgeous garden Fantasia! Mine looks a right heap at the moment with my greenhouse in bits and weeds everywhere!! I really want to get out there and get sorting, but whenever i have the time, the weather is disgusting! And at the moment, the weather is perfect and I am stuck at my desk in the office.

How lovely Fantasia - we have a solitary crocus in bloom, several others in bud though, but it is bright yellow and very cheerful. Made me smile to see it, spring is on the way when the bulbs make an apppearance I always think.:j

Hi All! Lovely cheery day here - sunny, not too cold, blue sky and crocuses out all over the place so really feeling like spring. As well as getting lots of other jobs done I have been out this afternoon to take my pics for the DFW photo challenge and have had a mini photo-adventure - will post more about that on the challenge thread with some pics!:D

Hugs to those who need them, but especially to Sue and her daughter, and to Cheri. Fantasia your garden looks fantastic - I love interesting gardens - I'm never ever going to live anywhere that has a manicured circle of grass for a garden - gardens should be visually interesting! Mind you any sort of garden would be nice! Oh Crickett I SO identify with you having a colleague who you are actively glad when they are not there!

Cheri - a variation on Pania's quote which I like is "If you never make the climb, you never get to appreciate the view".

(((sue and daughter)))))) glad she seems to be a little better

((((people struggling at work)))))))) I'm so lucky at the minute with my job - and yet yesterday I found myself getting irritated at my new boss for something so small it's insignificant.However, I have to work with her closely for the next two years - and just her for the second of those two years - so we need to iron out little things now before they get out of hand. Need to have a good think about that.

Had a very busy day with 4 kids wanting lots of play etc. Been out in the garden which sadly doesn't look half a nice as Fantasia's Lots of outdoor play equipment needs a good clean etc so yet more jobs to add to the list of never ending jobs :cool:

Cheri - glad things have been resolved

Fantasia - Yay to feeling positive in a negative situation

Susan - Glad your DD has got some support. Hope she'll see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.


BIG NEWS of the day is H has been selected for an interview for his Boss's job :T:T He's done fantastic to get this far as the vacancy stipulated 7 years experience which my H doesn't have in a managerial role BUT he's got 14 years experience in the same dept so hope that swung things in his favour. Interviews (lasting 2 hours :eek:) are scheduled for Thursday and Friday next week although H hasn't been given a time and date yet. Can you all muster up your positive vibes that he knocks their socks off

Oh and I've been brainstorming more schemes which I'll share on the other side.......
