Another day of pottering here - I'm making a noticeboard, and will pop to see a friend later, and at some point will sit down with my goals list. One of my goals was to make sure me and Mr Daffs get at least one day out and one half day out together a month (a proper day out, not just a day at home), and 3 or 4 weekends away a year, so we're going to sit down with our diaries and plan today :j

Hope you all have a good one, whatever you're up to x

Me and Popeye do that :D Otherwise our time here could easily be squandered. We don't know whether we'll be here for 6 months more or two years........and any variation in between. We're facing much uncertainty at the moment, I mentally packed and moved, and now we might be staying :rotfl:

This month we're visiting Mafeking (cheapish trip), and next month for our anniversary we're going to Zimbabwe :j

    Good Morning

I definitley think my injection is wearing off, woke up very sore again this morning, :(

Thrifty, I would be proud too :)

Not sure if I have to meet mum yet today, but need to take the cards up to the shop, and the necklace I lengthened for my mate to pass on to the lady.

Never cleaned the craft stuff off the table last night, so that is my job for this morning.

    Claire hope all goes well.

Thrifty how wonderful! Congratulations to DD.

Cheery I think its the only way to do things, really, sit down with the diaries - all our lives are so busy (especially the two of you :) )

Olive **KC waves frantically** hello! Where are you going in Zim? I had a lovely time when I was there, tho admittedly most of it was spent in the white community ...

Thanks for the good wishes everyone :D It has taken a long time to plan as we wanted to get somewhere cool for the budget we can afford. We're getting married at Queen Mary University which seems very apt for a perpetual student like me!! The reception will be in an old library, so lots of lovely old books around. The big things are all arranged apart from the entertainment, hoping that will be done soon.

    Ooooh sounds lovely :D:D

Well done to Miss thrifty :T:T:T

    Here's a quick TADA list:

Went shopping, now all put away
    Cleaned living room and porch
    Put vac round everywhere downstairs
Got on my knees with rubber gloves and srubbed my stairs carpet with the gloves, it helps to lift the stubborn little bits that the vac can't lift - will have to make this a once a week job I think :(
    Vac'ed the stairs
    Tidied up one storecupboard

Me and DD have just finished lunch. So this afternoon will probably be spent playing with her and I have some planning to do for one mindee for half term hols next week.

Time for coffee I think, have a good day everyone. Lots of positive vibes for you all :D

Oh and I hope those of you who celebrate will have a lovely Valentines Day with the one they love x

Today is World Toilet Day (yuk)
    http://flushtracker.com/

You just pop in your postcode and this tells you where all local wasteage ends up. You may be surprised.

Hmmmmm, I made a deposit this morning and I'm still tracking it, it's now 18 miles North of Johannesburg, I think it's heading towards the game parks........................ :p

Whereas the one in Hertfordshire would only have gone 4 miles ,

    :rotfl::rotfl: little things.......

    GA Matrix,
Well spend my weekend getting to know our new arrival, erm wiping up drool, and shoveling up piles of poop :rotfl::rotfl:.
The arrival in question, has a cavernous, deep bark and a deep throaty growl, but apart from that has settled beautifully. Wherever I go, she is right behind me. Flippin' parrot has mastered the art of saying "Leyla SIT", in a very firm tone of voice, and Leyla being the obedient girl that she is just drops her bum to the floor and looks round expectantly for the next instruction. She also does a very impressive "high 5" only her paw lands on your shoulder lol.
What else can I say, erm ok now about "Walkies".
She fetches her lead for you and sits patiently while you put it on, walks beautifully to the front door, but she is too strong for me.
OH manages her, not that she pulls badly but she weighs more than me lol (ouch).
So we are going to invest in a 'dogmatic', which is a head collar for larger breeds, which when she gets used to it will alow me to walk her properly and remain in control. Had one of these for my last dane and it was a big help. She will be taught to walk to heel, but till we get to that point I still need to exercise her as OH is out all day.
Enough about my 'dane daily do's'.
I hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a productive Monday.

    Positive vibes to everyone.

Dane "Tails" :) I love it. And I love the tails too, tho I can't quite grasp how you'll cope without the dogmatic thingummy, Fantasia - still, lots of luck with it!

With difficulty lol. I have the use of a paddock so she can free run in the afternoon, just a case of popping her in the car, etc., Plus its plenty big enough to practice heelwork and re-call etc.,
  • Mornin' guys - quiet here last night and this morning - heeelllllllloooooo.

Eeeehhhh, I'm tired this morning. Well today ds and I are going back to meet with the Disability Employment Advisor. The only thing that he has come up with for ds is a community venture scheme (voluntary work) that I found for ds 18 months ago. Last time ds just could not handle the environment, I explained this to the advisor so I don't know what he thinks is going to be different this time around. Well after some hefty encouragement from us ds is going to give it another go, so we shall see. If I can get him through the door that will be a success in itself. Feeling bone weary and sorry for myself this morning - I so hate autism.

Later today the plan is to blitz the front room and storm through the washing and ironing. Home-made pasta and cheese sauce for tea - too many calories  - yummmmy :rotfl:.

    See you later peeps, Thriftyxxx
