It must be a bit of an eye opener for the mentors about the way us girls go on when we get together!!
when my DH was a slight young lad of 18 and doing a management traineeship in a car manufacturer (back in the days when we had a real British car industry) he had one of his work weeks in a part of a car factory staffed by some fairly robust middle aged Lancashire women. He remembers he came out whitefaced and with a lot of respect for any foreman who could keep that lot in some semblance of orderIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -

Yep, in my experience of line management I would sooner manage a group of fellas anyday. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -

I had threading on my eyebrows once. It hurt and I thought the funny faces you have to pull were most undignified. Give me waxing on my eyebrows every time. Plucking prolongs the agony, and anyway it makes me keep sneezing!! Legs I generally shave every couple of days - more mse!
As to the subject of things falling out, etc - there are definite benefits to being the other side of the menopause!
As for the discussion on children - to have or have not - everyone's different; no rights or wrongs. People can be very thoughtless and very cruel. To want and not to be able to have is very sad, and my heart goes out to anyone in this situation.
Sometimes what you think you want in your 20s and thirties is different from what you want in your 40s. I feel very sad for anyone who thinks they don't want children and then change their mind and find it's too late. Life can be cruel sometimes.
Goodness that's all a bit maudlin, isn't it?

Well aren't I the lucky one - my legs are as clean as a whistle, no need for any intervention; my oxters are almost as smooth as an olive so likewise I don't bother doing anything to them, but I'm considering an Epicare for my face, explained here:

I like low tech solutions! - no wires or electricity needed; no batteries needed; can't break down; less messy than wax or cream. Can't get on with tweezers these days, even with glasses on, so one of tomorrow's tasks will be to order one of these, to deal with my 'tache.
My niece in S Africa was tyrranised by peer (and school staff) pressure into waxing arms, legs, face from her early teens. This is despite being blond and with only pale downy hair on her legs and arms. She was told she "wasn't feminine" if she didn't comply.
I would hate to feel that kind of conforming pressure and wonder how widespread it is amongst teenage girls here in the UK?
GQ xoxIf you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Actually, I remember laying on the bed while they plastered my leg telling the lady doing it how it had happened, and she had to stop while she laughed so much she cried!
Personally, I think that was a little OTT! But it was funny
The only bummer is that it hurts when the weather is damp, and I had to have a camera down my throat to find out what was wrong instead...
However, following my own rules, I didn't have to take any clothes off for that, so it was fine.
My advice, for free... if you ever have to have one, have the sedative... i didn't because foolishly I drove myself to the hospital, and you're not allowed to drive for blimmin' ages afterwards - also I don't really like injections! After all that, it was "just" IBS...! BAH!0 -

Me too! I have no prospect of learning anything new here as they have stopped funding courses and I'm to busy doing my job to be given anything else to learnMortgage: 2011: 86000 - now: 499000 -

She's been at me for ages to get waxed instead of plucking and shaving (ahem). So I went after work today for what was supposed to be a leg and eyebrow wax and got talked into getting the bikini line done as well. (not sure why cos at 52 even though I'm still size 10/12 I dont indulge in bikini's:rotfl:.).
The legs and eyebrows weren't too bad , but the bikini line was :eek::eek::eek:. I'll leave well alone frm now on. :rotfl:It'll be eyebrows plucked and legs shaved or epillated.
So ladies, waxing............or............shaving. ????????
Feel free not to answer :rotfl:;).
I always have taken fertility for granted- feel very humbled girls. I apologise.
Totally agree, I am humbled too.
Shaving for armpits and legs for me, eyebrows are tweezered
A few years ago, my friend was training to be a beautician, and she convinced me I should have my armpits waxed.....half an hour later my armpits still had hair, and were bleeding
We went clubbing that night, and I was doing the "funky chicken" impression all night :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have never let her forget either :rotfl:0 -
The only waxing I have ever done was on EXOH chest and stomach. He was into bodybuilding at the time, we were going on holiday and he wanted to be all smooth. He bought a waxing kit and asked me to do it for him. One hour later he probably needed a skin graft on his stomach because I redid it about 5 times because he thought there was still a hair left.
Mmmmmm notice I said EX!!Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0
