I see tellmeitsfriday - glad you got in with the doc! I've got one of those copper IUD things - best thing I ever did
(well, had it replaced with a plastic one, which promptly fell back out again  but copper one (a different one!) firmly lodged back in again now)
No fuss, no faff, no side effects
Anyway, as you were, poor old mentors will have palpitations if the conversation goes off down that route! :rotfl:0 -
Day off today, my chaps are off school and out sledging.

I thought I was bad with panicing at the blood pressure, OK it's worse at the DR's, but it took me ages at home not to start flapping when the band starts to expand to take the readingOK I did have pre-eclampsia twice, and if the readings were too high, you just got imprisoned in hospital for weeks on end!!!!
I've started some relaxation exercises, which seem to work so that I can get 'normal' readings, so it could be something to look into.
Have they updated your records to say about your mother's stroke? It is probably something that should be there, and something to discuss if you haven't already.
Hope this isn't counted as medical advice0 -
He he, I had a 24 hour bp check - the machine scared me so much everytime it went off, the readings whooshed up! (Apparently, it measures your pulse every 5 minutes, and does bp every 30 minutes - and my "normal" pulse was normal, and the one it did when it did the BP was double the normal one)
What are we like eh!
The stroke thing is why i wanted to talk to my proper doc really, rather than the duty one who will just whack out a prescription!
Have to love it!0 -
I would quite happily send you all some snow down if you would like it - another 2 hour and a bit commute but that was after some one decided to park their car in my garden2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0

TMIF: You're not alone about the blood pressure thingy - I hate it with a vengance:eek: The minute it starts to inflate that's it, my pulse goes mad. I'd rather have an injection and I hate them:eek:.
My day off sick on Monday has developed into a week, I have done nothing but sleep. I do feel a bit better today, but am miserable now as am a weeks money down ( couldn't make it stretch normally) and Christmas is looming and haven't got OH anything at all.
Keep telling myself I always have a pre-Christmas downer but it doesn't get any easier:eek:
