I have another day of doing battle with the spreadsheet and budgeting software from hell, so shan't be around much today.
Not ABCHE I think? That is software from hell if you like, every time they bring out a new version there is a different bug in it!
My work is getting a little easier, my results have been in and passed by line manager, Head of Management Accounts, Deputy Finance Director and Finance Director and then through it's first committee. Each person required at least 2 meetings and every meeting meant more work for me. No-one can say that we don't take TRAC seriously at Leeds.
I realise this will only mean anything to TMIF and Crickett but the rest of you can ignore it as a general moan.
Now work is easier, I feel less tired and more positive. I went to the gym with a friend last night and I'm now going for a 20 minute walk in the sunshine.0 -
Hi Helen. Thankfully filling in those horrid forms is someone else's job in the centre. My horrors are to do with a new planning model I have been tasked with getting off the ground going from the individual modules and the students in those modules and then building up delivery times using the weightings and allowances and what not. Lovely. And the budgeting software is called COGNOS and it is a right royal pain in the 'arris. There are different models for different parts of the accoutns and I have to reconcile between each model and with the outside information they are inputting. That's what I will be doing for the whole of March!
However, it is sunny outside, I have made lots of progress with some of my thinking about things, I am about to astound people with the model so far... and it is time for another cup of tea. Do you have shops that sell curtain material near you, either small independants who will give you samples to take home to see if it matches your decor or Dunelm Mill?? (they sell online
see http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/fabric-and-sewing/fabric/)
There are also a couple of shops local to me who do 'the markets' and they sell on-line ... http://www.fabricsatthefentshop.com/. Have a look and if they don't sell on-line you could order and I can collect for you as I am in Macc every Thurs AM.

Thanks for the lovely offer NL. there is a Dunelm in Small Heath in Brum but they've stopped selling the main bulk of their fabric
Thanks ladies for all the suggestions of online stores, much appreciated. Just need several hours to have a browseWhat about curtain fabric Bitsy?? Plums were doing it £1 a meter before xmas
Where are Plums based?I'm having 2 wisdom teeth out tomorrow so can I please ask for lots of positive thoughts?
Hope it goes well Mrs Hicks. I confess I don't have any wisdom tooth (what a lucky perk) - does that mean I'm not wise?

Nice to see the thread busy.
Susan - that sunset sounds fantastic, not daft at all
Claire - hope poochie comes back from the vets tonight xx
Well on a slightly less positive note I confess I am subconsciously rebelling against the SW dietI do need to change my eating habits but again I feel the restriction biting and I don't like it. Making me think about all the things I would like to eat but can't. I may have to tweak things slightly, I need to change things but deprevation is ultimately going to cause me to fail I think. Will have to see how I go anyway.
Been to Forest School with DS and his class this morning so I haven't achieved anything today, well bar getting my hiking boots nice and muddy :rotfl: Will squeeze in some cleaning before I go on the school run tonight.
Have a good afternoon everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Sorry - I'm a bit late if the exam was this morning but positive vibes on their way anyway - and I have given them strict instructions to take effect retrospectively!!! Hope they understood!

Did someone say TRAC... ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent 3 months doing that about 18 months ago when I was in Central. Moved to one of the business units now, and I seem to have spent the last year doing journals. It's not all glam, let me tell you!
Think I might have a nap now...
How's the dog Claire? x0 -
Busy Peeps today:D
All this talk of journals and reconcilliations - and I spent the day working on times-tables, long division and handwriting practice
Still it now appears to making sense to DS1 - so thats a start.
I can hear a pot of tea calling my name - very welcome as I feel chilled to the bone. Theres a draft in the kitchen that I need to get sorted if we re gong to be hanging out in there when I'm not cooking (and keeping it warm)
Just been quoted over 2k for some stud work upstairs to form a bedroom for DS2 - methinks I will have to go and read the "Readers Digest book of Home Improvement" from the library instead. I know its not a difficult job - the problem is that it's not one you can do on your own IYWIM?
