Can I have a wee quietly smug moment - our personal loan was finally paid off today and aside from the mortgage we have no debts, no CC's nothing :D
H is unhappy in his current role and I am planning on saving the funds we were paying in case he decides to pursue a course privately that would cost circa £2K. Feeling like this is the right step in the direction for him and I am glad we are sort of debt free yay!

Fantastic Bitzy, Well done :) Once I've cleaned and sorted my orders I will get the rest of the stuff on the website.

    Thanks all.

My car decided to go haywire on the way to work yesterday and it might need a new engine, meaning it'll wipe a huge chunk out of our house deposit - again. So please cross everything that it's cheap to fix so we can still have our house! If it dies, I'll have to get a car on finance you see so no mortgage :(

Keeping my fingers crossed, nothing Major :)

When did this happen? New thread?? And I was feeling stupid thinking why no-one is contributing to the old one...Anyone has any suggestions how I can gain some time? I just can't find time for anything, so so busy...

Have you tried mapping you day??

Well I went back to bed this morning, Now I'm behind on everything :), never mind I'll catch up, Just having 5 while I wait for the kitchen floor to dry,

    Tumble and washing machine on.

Kitchen and bathroom cleaned :) when I got up I could smell cats wee :( so having to pull everything out and scrub :(, not sure where it is :( smelling much better now the floors have been washed in the kitchen and bathroom, next room is living room, will have to pull settee's and cupboards out, I'm just hoping that it's not on the rug :(

The fence came down in the night too, so I can't let the dog out,

Never mind the day can only get better,

Gonna get some dinner and crack on, hoping I'll get sorted in the next hour as I need to pack a pile of jewellery plus make up some orders.

    Has anyone got snow yet????

Sorry for the long absence, been rushed off my feet up to Sunday & then recovering ever since.
The Christening went very well, the GS was a complete star, there were about 70 people there and he spent 4 hours being passed around at least 40 of them without crying once (although he was sick on my friend's son but such are babies). The food was also admired and eaten so I had a smugly enjoyable afternoon. The only thing that marred it slightly was that GS's father brought his new girlfriend and insisted on holding hands with her which we all thought was quite inappropriate.

Today I am at work and have been told to beware of a possible student sit in so we are waiting to see if there is any excitement. We spent far too long yesterday afternoon locking up files which could contain sensitive or confidential data. So far the students are just shuffling round town making the usual noises. I hear Plymouth has been occupied though, doesn't one of our matrix members work at Plymouth Uni?

    That's me! What's this all about? I must investigate :) x

Claire - There is some special stuff you can buy that removes the urea from the area (and takes away the smell). Although it may appear OK, the smell may come back and the cat may smell its new toliet stop place anyway. It does work as my OH moved into a house that had had 3 dogs living in it while the owners were out at work.

Just I can't remember the name of it :( (Really need the memory course on Sat huh? ;))

The smell does come back, urgh, its the ammonia and the cat keeps coming back to the same spot and scenting its territory.
Blot urine out with towel (jumping on it works :rotfl:the mix one part white vinegar with 4 parts water - pour on blotted spot. blot again (dont scrub as it jut spreads the stain). Allow to dry, sprinkle with baking soda (natural deodoriser) then hoover well.
Cleaning solution just masks the smell and it will return when dry.

  • Bitsy - fantastic news :j:j:j. I joined MSE 2 years ago and (whispers quietly) with luck in another two years we will be debt & mortgage free.

Gemmzie - fingers crossed that the repairs are not expensive. Is a car-free life an option? Sounds daft in this day and age but we did this for several years when ds was a baby - boy were we fit - spent loads of time on public transport though....

Fantasia - I think you're ideas are great so keep them coming - said with a stern waggy finger. A range of products with a range of price-tags sounds brilliant - especially liked the sound of email mentoring / support.

Shhhh but I may be feeling a little better today, made it out of bed by noon  - don't laugh now but I put my back out this morning sneezing - gawd I'm getting old, just need to be put down and put out my misery :rotfl:. Still do feel better in spite of my old crone gait :rotfl:

Love to all and good luck with locating the cat wee Claire,
    Thriftyxxx
  • Claire,

when my dog used to urinate on the kitchen floor I was told to use Biological washing powder to wash the area with, as that kills the enzymes that cause the smell...good luck I hope you find it! ;)

Oh and its just started snowing here in Norwich
