Hi all.
Happy Birthday to Hardup Hester; I take it you'll be celebrating in style?;)
Sorry, I've missed a couple of days again, so hope all is well.
The Wolf's Lair is in total and utter chaos; Mr LW has started on replacing the internal doors. There are seven of them to do, and he'll only be able to work on them at weekends, so I don't see an end to it any time soon. It's made worse by the fact that we have a tiny bungalow, and he's taking up all of the hallway, so even getting from the lounge to the loo is a mountaineering expedition. If I come out of this with my sanity intact, I shall be amazed!
Anyways, we've decluttered Quorn fillets in white wine sauce and chips by way of dins, and I tried ironing for the first time in months - normally Mr LW does it, but I said if he'd lift the ironing table in for me, I'd have a go. I know why I let him do it now - my left hand really knows about it, as the iron is very heavy.
I'll try to post during the week, but I fear I may feel too disheartened, as I hate mess with a vengeance. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi all, haven't posted in ages but all good here. New job is going really well and have just had my first holiday since I started. Was shattered and really needed it!
Happy Bday Hester and hugs to all who need them. Jackie enjoy the lights switch on!
1st Dec is the start of Xmas for me officially. Flat tiny and don't like loads of carp about but got a few xmas candles and a Harrods teddy to put out as decs! Actually got some time off at Xmas this year (not usual in retail) so will be going to Mum and Dads and enjoying it.
Shopping to be done but actually have the cash for once so it will be a joy to do.
Having a friend for tea tonight so need to get showered and finish my hoovering and then pop to Sainsbury's (got Nectar points) and Aldi for a few bits but dont need much. Store cupboard is so full that I've had to move bedding out and under the bed as there's no room for it for all the food.
Started baking after my bday but need to get back into it.

Just been thinking dose money saving diva still post?
Iv not seen her about.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Diva was ill for a while, and had an op, and never posted for a couple of months, then reposted in August, and we haven't heard since. Still, no news is good news, and one of the Flyladies is in touch with her, so we would have heard if we had anthing to worry about, I hope. She's either found a new lease of life, or she's recuperating. Lets hope its the former.

Been quite sick all afternoon and had a snooze, just going to get showered and changed and get ready to go to Glasgow. No rain tonight, which will be the first in a few years, but its freezing up here. BRRRRRIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Afternoon All
:bdaycake: H-H :bdaycake:, you've caught me up again! :rotfl:
Still trying to decide what to do for my "special" birthday next year, worst of it falling in the middle of August, is it is expensive to go anywhere, and too hot to make the most of it if we do.
Had a mad baking day today, made blackberry and apple and raspberry and apple pies, and a small S&K pie, 2 crumbles with the same fruit as the pies, a dozen mince pies, bakewell tart, egg custard, and a double sultana scone mix. I had to use the bottom 2/3rds of my oven split, but it does not cook evenly, can see myself getting a good single built in oven, as this is driving me nuts. I succeeded, but it means kept turning things around and moving them around shelves.
Tea tonight is roast beef.
Went out last night, and had a rather nice mixed grill (sorry a real carnivore here).
Thought about the Edinburgh meet, even though I didn't get an invite (nor one to a wedding either) but decided train fare of £83, could not be justified.
Tomorrow, BG are coming out again to our boiler, it does keep working, but is losing pressure/water, which DH has to keep topping up so we can use it, which they keep trying to fix, unfortunately the Saturday fix made it worse.
We do debate at times getting a new one, but not via BG. We could get a good model off the web, DH could do 90% of the fixing, and then just needing a Gas Engineers for that bit, tempted to put in in the loft out of the way.
Right better go and catch up with Strictly before tonights resutls show.
Take care all DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Good afternoon all
Had a nice Sunday so far, was very surprised when i woke at 9am! That's the longest lie in I've had in ages :T
Been feeling carp all week - loaded with cold, think I'm over the worst of it now, although my ears now feel all blocked up and keep popping
Cooked breakfast made for OH, Dog walked, then out for a Sunday lunch with Mam & Dad (Their treat:j).
Had a little browse round the shops after. Got some wrapping paper in poundland, '50 Years of Coronation St' book for my Mam's Birthday in WH Smith-was £20 originally down to £10 half price & I also had a voucher I printed off here (due to expire today) for a further £5 off so all in all a fiver! Well pleased with that!:money:
Then lastly called in to Tesco's where we spotted some of the fresh flowers reduced. Still completely fresh and down to 90p. Got a bunch of Pink roses & a bunch of Irises, which are now making my hall and living room look very pretty.
Best get off and see if there's anything I can chuck together for tea.
Haven't had chance to read today's thread so far, so-sorry if I've missed anything. Here's a (((((((Hug))))))) to anyone that needs/wants one.
Bye for now xx0 -

Well I've had a semi productive day.
Went to shops and got some bits for hols, have tidied and cleaned kitchen, just about to hoover. I made veggie roast dinner with stuffed peppers, and a big pot of veggie chilli which will be tea, with fajitas, and I'll freeze the rest. Lunch sorted for tomorrow too. Need to clean fridge and put DW on.
I wore my new Tone Up boots out, oh my they were so comfy
I still need to dye my hair, CBA but it needs doing desperately and I haven't used any product on my hair today so it won't take long really. Think I'll do it during X Factor when they have the boring bit in the lead up to the results.
I've looked up some stuff about Montreal and I've read through a bit of my travel guide so I have an idea of what we may do when we are there.
Have a good evening all

evening everyone, hope you have all had a good day, hope you had a great birthday Hester.
Excelled myself today, was awake at 4.30, should have come on here and found the other earlybirds but kept thinking I will go back to sleep soon......not!
Was out when the shops opened this morning, went to Matalan and Asda, didn't manage to find a top . Got a call from DSS no 1 to ask if we could have OH's DGD this afternoon as he had to go to work and take her back to her mums later.
Have really enjoyed myself with her, we did baking cakes and crochet, well it started as crochet lol, OH has taken her home now.
Did find a top eventually, in New Look, we have a large NL on a retail park near here, its nothing special, (the top that is) just a sort of red tshirt with batwing sleeves, but will go nice with my jeans and I have some red high heels too. Would rather wear my dress when we go out, but as I said the others at work were horrified to think of dressing up :rotfl:
No work tomorrow, my last day off, bet I wake up early again, then Tuesday I will be shattered
We also managed to find bargain price for over xmas at Premier Inn, last week when we were looking it was £180 ish for 3 nights, booked last night and it was £89 pounds ish. We know we can stay (camp) at my parents, but think its not fair on them, they don't need us coming and going as we will be doing, can only stop 3 nights as work will not let me use holiday inbetween xmas and new year, why I don't know, the wages will be done, guess they need me to answer the phone to clients who are upset that their wastepaper bins haven't been emptied, not exactly life threatening is it?
Hope you all have a good evening, whatever you are doing and that the poorlies start feeling better (((hugs)))
cyas soon xxxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
