Necessities 1st, luxuries later. My parents drummed that into me almost before I could walk.Buy the necessities and try to get the luxeries for nothing, that is the name of the game nowadays. Dont feel offended if you cant get a delivery slot after the 20th because these are only available to left footed dwarfs with a tendency to drink.

This made me laugh! I'll join you - and I am teetotal!!

I've just booked 21st and there is not a single other slot gone - everything is available. I cannot believe that there is not a single slots taken for the 21st. I will update tomorrow and Thursday though.

So if you have not been sent an invite, do it now, put a few things in your basket and checkout, then each day you can move it forward, you'll have until midnight on 21st Dec to go back into the order and add everything else you need.

BTW. Has anyone else checked out the Tesco app for the iphone? You can scan the stuff you need and it adds it to your basket!! Bloody brilliant!! I can go to Tesco, walk around, scan it all and find things I need - stuff that I can never find online and I can compare prices easier - and then have someone deliver it to my door.

  • Got a slot for the 21st too! Just want to get to 22nd, in case they don't deliver and I can still get to the shop's!

I'm not sure, i did try to book once when i didn't have enough money to cover it in the bank until the next day and it declined my card, but to book that far ahead im not sure if it will 'check' now or not, they deffo dont take the money until its delivered but as to if you need the funds to be there to book it im not sure
  • Thanks Nara I do have enough funds to cover the cost at present but loads of shopping left to do!!! I've ordered home delivery with Tesco before and I was sure it was the case that they did'nt charge untill delivery but I have never used Asda before so they must be the samethanks again xx

If you are worried about the cost and whether this might charge when you initially 'checkout', stick a can of beans in and it'll charge just £5.50 (delivery plus beans).

I am pretty sure that Tesco do not charge though as I am usually dipping in and out of my order every day for 3 weeks adding things in and they do not charge me every day when I add more stuff. I have been called before because my card has been declined at checout (spent too much, oops, LOL) and I just gave them another card.
