  • 19th today, LOL, who said they were coming out on Monday??

Dont think I said on here but did actually phone after people were getting the option and was told Monday.....clearly not right though!

Will just have to keep checking I guess.
If only I could stop finding good bargains on this site, I would save a fortune! :rotfl:

Tesco are very fair at this time of year. They give priority to regular customers by giving them the chance to book delivery slots before releasing them to others. Cant say fairer than that.

I'm not sure how fair it is when we do a big shop there 3 or 4 times a month and we weren't given priority booking. I don't care too much as I'm sure I'll get something near Christmas, but it's still annoying to see that the goodly sum we spend every single month at Tesco doesn't seem to make us a "regular customer."

I have another theory, that maybe the slots were only given to people who only have one clubcard. I've got 3 and if I look at the balance I can see all the numbers tied to one account.

I am on 20th now though. I am really surprised that no-one else has any slots booked at all from my home store - all are available. Don't panic people, I am sure there will be slots for those of us that are booking this far in advance but book now and then move it forward each day so you at least get 20th and can order a turkey. Maybe it is the busier stores that are offering the slots in advance. I am getting my slot early each day (6.30) so it will be interesting to see if there are slots left on 23rd.

No other slots booked at all for that week though. Very strange. Maybe I am the only one that organised to be worrying about my Tesco delivery in this area. Tomorrow I can order my Turkey. Hurrah!! Although we might have chicken - it's cheaper and tastes the same, right??

Ooo Monkey, you must have Turkey on Christmas Day, even if you don't like it! ;)

I don't think they are Jany - I have a home delivery every two weeks, but I haven't been given the opportunity to book my Christmas slot yet - I don't think that's being fair at all.

Last year Tesco upset a LOT of their customers who order even more regularly than me who also had disabled family members to care for/worry about/buy for, etc, or who just plain couldn't make it to the supermarket for whatever reason.

Also, someone had posted on here a way to book your slot without being 'invited' to do so, and Tesco cancelled every single order.

Sainsburys is once again looking favourable!

Well I shop online every week with Tesco's and haven't missed a week all year but I haven't been offered a priority slot. As I want the Sunday before it isn't a problem because I have booked that and I am happy with that. There are other loyal customers on here though, who shop weekly who haven't been offered early booking. It does make me wonder how much money you have to spend each week to be considered loyal.

It seems a bit of a lottery which "loyal" customers are offered a slot and which aren't. There was a similar discussion on here last year. Last year I was offered a priority booking and several people who ordered weekly as I do and spent more than me weren't offered early booking.

Im not loyal enough and im £80 -£100 every week on delivery as cant get out due to disability often and live miles from the nearest shop. I have managed to get a slot on the 20th just now so that will have to do us and if we dont have it, we dont eat it. But i am looking round for other delivery stores and booking slots with them just incase.

Do you all just put anything in the order just to keep the slot? Then change it properly near the time ? Would be awful paying £5 to get a box of mince pies delivered if you forget!

I Don't usually get a slot but I shop for 6 adults and it's such chaos over the Xmas period so getting it delivered would be great :)

This happened last year - I consider myself a regular customer having weekly deliveries. I didn't get an invite last year or this.

Last year I waited until midnight to book a slot on the last delivery day before christmas. When the day became available at midnight there were no slots left to book - I guess all the 'invited customers' had previously booked them. If you especially want a Tesco's delivery for Xmas, book one now and keep moving it forward each day. You might not get the last day, but at least you won't have to trudge round the shops.
