No reason why you cant buy virgin sim to try out reception in the nokia 6210

You would need a PAC from orange to port your number.

The nokia 7610 might be unlockable for free, there is a thread at the top of this mobile phones board regarding this.

Only other thing is that the offer i mentioned about £15 per month from virgin for 300mins/300 texts apparently expires 31/10/06
  • Hi Maggie

Just checked out the Orange website and the Dolphin 19 is showing my phone as free.

Phoned them straight away and was told that the reason I had to pay was because I upgraded. I explained that I have not just upgraded, I have also taken a completely new tariff. Her answer to that was that the system is showing that I had to be charged £14.99 and there is nothing she can do about it.

I pointed out to her that if I had bought the plan directly from the website I would get a free phone but if I buy over the phone then I had to pay £14.99.
    She agreed!

I also pointed out the fact that their website prously boasts that existing customers are offered the same deals as new customers-so why wasn't I!!!

There was no one higher than her available for me to talk to so I am waiting for someone to call me back tomorrow. If I don't get any joy then I will simply cancell my contract and take out a new one via the web site.

    How ludicrous:mad:
If only I knew then what I know now :)
  • Hi

We have been having problems with the mobile outlet. We sent our 1-6 bills back within the stated time. However they have refused to pay our cash back as they say we should have sent a dispatch note. However the terms and conditions when we took the contract out did not say this.

On the 3rd July they changed thier terms and conditions (this is after we took our contract out with them). In these terms and conditions they state to send the dsipatch note.

They will not talk to you over the phone regarding any cash back issues. They have been slow responding. Completley unhelpful.

We are trying to speak to CAB and Trading Standards. Not sure if we will ever get the money back even though we are in the right.

I would never purchase anything thing else from this company and defiantely ould not recommend them.
  • Hi medici - yes I have bought the sim card today - felt very happy - then I saw some sites where you could check out coverage - now I feel back to square one - and £15 worse off!! Where I live the coverage is very poor according to the check that I did - but you are right - I will only know when I have tried it! I think it is coming tomorrow and then I will be back on line either singing Virgins praises or back to square one! And all the time the ironing is piling up!!!! This site is quite addictive - as well as being sooooo helpful! Thanks
  • Crazysaver - i feel boogled eyed by all this!! And to boot coverage is still bad and I cannot use my free minutes withOrange. No one has rung me to pleed with me to stay!! And I ahv bought this blinking Virgin sim card today - but as medici says - until I actually try it in phone - wont really know. I will prob be back on this tomorrow eve (divorce pending prob ..!!) asking for more help!! Cheers everyone!
