Do you have any idea if this deal of the sim only with free broadband would be available to people who already pay for virgin broadband.

I'm quite interested in this offer, but as I am already a virgin broadband customer, not sure if I'd be able to get the broadband free.
I'd definately save money on the broadband alone, but also get a monthly contract as well.

I've had a quick look in their t&c, but can't see anything.
I've tried to phone the helpline but there is a wait of an hour!:eek:
So I've sent an e-mail and will sit and wait!

Hi Maggie.

Just got off the phone. (Their network has been down all day!)

They have offered to upgrade my plan to 75 minutes any time any network and 225 texts for £19 per month inc VAT.

That works out as 162 more texts and 15 extra minutes plus I wasn't cross networked before. All this for roughly £2 less than I am already paying. Not a huge saving I know, but I can now phone other mobiles and text to my hearts content.

They also knocked £25 off of a Ben Q Siemans EL71.

I used to get my upgrades completely free but because I'm such a low user, I have to pay something towards it now.

I paid £14.99 for the phone.:beer:

No doubt someone will now reply to this to tell me I've chosen the wrong phone.:rotfl:

I know the network has been down!!! i have been trying to use my free 50 mins today - and could I??? Oh dear - they obviously like you - they did not offer that to me - but really I am looking to reduce down to about 10 - 15 pounds .... and clearly there is nothing for that unless it is payasyougo. I have told them I am leaving anyway ... maybe someone will get back to me. Thanks for letting me know anyway! maggie

I really am not an expert but I would have thought that any deal offering you £15 or less would probably excluding VAT.

Although my £19 seems a lot, that is all I will be paying. No VAT no text charges and no charges for other networks.

They told me it was called the "Dolphin 19" tariff. I haven't had time to go back to their website yet to check it all out.

If you feel it suits you then by all means feel free to quote me or the deal I have been offered by them today.

If you already have a phone, the virgin deal i mentioned above would seem the cheapest non-cashback deal for you.

It is £15 INCLUSIVE of VAT (£10 if you are an ntl customer).

I cant see anything that could beat it

maggiemoon- i have seen some of your posts regarding coverage.

The network sites let you check what coverage is like in a particular area (by postcode).
BUT you can only really tell for sure by trying it.
could you borrow a t-mobile or virgin phone from a friend and try it where you are?

The other thing is that the virgin sim only deal only has a minimum term of 1 month so if not suitable you can leave

Hi Medici, I was concerned about unlocking my orange phone (which was given to me by daughter now in Australia - it is a Nokia 7610, cos I thought that you could not put another sim card in it cos it would not work (I am not very literate with phones - you may have guesses!) anyway - my husband has got a redundant Nokia - he thinks a 6210??? anway I have just put my sim card in this Nokia and it works - I can use it ..... so is there any reason I cant go and buy a £5 Virgin sim card from a shop, insert that into his Nokia (which I can have he says ...) to try it out and see what the reception is like? Then I could use this phone - cos otherwise would I have to go to the expense of getting orange to unlock their(mine given by daughter) Orange Nokia if I wanted to use that? Also - keeping the number I would have to get a code from Orange wouldnt I, otherwise I jsut get a new number with Virgin!) His Nokia used to be used with Vodaphone - and Vodaphone comes up first of all but then goes.... and Orange comes up!! Many thanks
