lor6126 Same here was told my sofa was treated and have found out it could NOT be treated as half leather and half material. As treatment must be invisable spray i assume you would not be able to tell if it had been sprayed. Was infact sold an insurance policy instead mine was £348 though. I also don't buy warranties or extra policys so had they said this is what it was i would have said "Dont want it." So know exactly where you are comming from. ;-)
• emailed dfs told them i had been misold staincover they agreed and refunded the money no probs
• I thought stainguard just meant that if your sofa oncurred any stains, marks, burns etc then they would replace that part of the sofa or get you a new one?

My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are 70126 MSE doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it. ATOL numbers can be checked with the Civil Aviation Authority. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.

Ok.. rather than being stupid, i think you do not understand the situation.

The problem is that the OP has paid to have the protection sprayed on. It turns out that furniture with leather parts CANNOT be sprayed. The problem is that DFS still take the money but do not tell the customer that it hasnt been sprayed.

The justification from DFS is that the item will be insured regardless. The complaint by the customers is that they werent paying for insurance, they were paying for the product to be sprayed, hence the insurance was missold.

I do understand the situation, but what I dont understand is why these concerns were not raised to DFS before the watchdog programme.

There is no mis-sold product as the protection cover is there still....where its wrong is the sales person mis-informed the OP of how the protection is applied to the furniture as OP said the terms and conditions were read and no where does it state the the furniture was spray then why didn't the OP contact DFS.

I think you were right first time Olliesdad.;)
