So if you have this "Stainguard", you can spill a glass of Red Wine, and it can be mopped up with NO trace?0
-
ok firstly, we read all the small print, lots of exclusions, but i thought, wont apply to us as we have been assured that our furniture has been specially treated so that stains sit on top and cant sink in. thats what the salesmen are telling everyone. The facts are though that lots have not been treated including mine. So basically iv paid £150 for a policy that wont cover many things you are likely to spill.
Im surprised at the attitude of some here, to laugh at the thought of someone damaging their property and finding what they have paid for will not protect it?
And to Bigbulldog, i can assure you, nowhere in the terms and conditions, does it tell you that the treatment you have paid to have applied has not been done. I am certainly not jumping on a bandwaggon, simply not happy to have paid the equivalent of a weeks wages to me for something i didnt receive.0 -

You say that you purchased your furniture over 12 months ago yet all of a sudden since Watchdogs airing you are claiming to have been mis-sold insurance...........mmmmmmmmmm0 -

Very weird post..
Maybe since the Watchdog airing it has come to light that they have been missold. As far as the poster was aware they had a sofa with the protection product sprayed on, this has now been shown to not be true.0 -

If you want a real laugh go in DFS and ask them if they have any sofa's that are not half price. :rotfl:0

What are strange comment....
If as the op says that no where in the terms and conditions is says the furniture has NOT been sprayed with a protection then why didn't the op go back to DFS to clarify the situation rather than waiting for Watchdog highlight the wrong information.
As far as I understand from DFS the op still all the protection/cover against spills and stains, but without the scotguard spray on her suite.0 -

Not the same thing at all, the DFS sales person would have assured the OP that any spillages could just be wiped off with a damp cloth. To say that the OP should have read the T&C is an argument but hardly anyone does, most people believe the sales person.0 -
bigbulldog, i think everyone reading except you seems to realise i was not aware until highlighted on the programme that my suite may not have been treated. So what possible reason would i have had to query it before with DFS? I have been lucky enough in the past 12 months not to spill anything on it or i may have found out before now.
Yes i still have an insurance policy but with many exclusions, the attraction for me on buying was the treatment, which i was promised and which was explained in great detail to me by the salesman. My point is that he knew while telling me all this that my suite could not be treated. I simply am annoyed at being lied to.0 -

Are you being deliberately stupid?
The OP was unaware until the show that her suite had not been given the protection!0
