Until it works in Firefox I won't be using it. Does it also not work in Opera?
  • this site looks great. Did my first online shop this week with Asda and it was okay but can you believe they supposedly had no eggs and couldnt even offer a substitute!!! Kicked off on phone to CS and they have refunded my delivery charge. I was considering trying tesco so I will be using this site to compare. Much easier to navigate than the Asda site!

    Thanks!!

I love this site! I only have the choice between Tesco and Ocado and you can guess which one wins on price. I'm at £39 on Tesco and £53 on ocado

But, the fact that you can actually see the pictures is a revalation for me as it makes shopping so much quicker. Supermarket does seem to be based on the familiarity and size of the packet rather than the exact wording in most cases. It helps me remember things I might have forgotten too.

    :D

Saving me a lot of time with this one Martin, thank you!:A

  • I normally shop at Waitrose and Costco so expected to find a huge difference. To my surpirse I would only save £4 by shopping at Asda. I guess it all depends on what you buy (I'm Italian so put quality on the top of my list, whenever I can). Perhaps the fact that I cook almost al my meals from scratch makes a difference.

  • This proved to me that Tesco is the cheapest but also showed how I could save even more. Did a test with my Tesco favourites which came out cheaper by £15 then found I could save another £14 by choosing some of the suggested replacements. Absolutely ace and I love the fact that you can quickly scan along all the items and clearly see where there's a BOGOF or a price reduction.
  • For me, asda was cheapest, then sainsburys by about £1, then tesco about £15 deerer and the ocado about £115.00 MORE EXPENSIVE! I know where i won't be shopping...
  • I have used all 4 of the online supermarkets at different times, although mostly I use Ocado. There is no delivery fee if you spend over £75, the delivery slots are 1 hour wide instead of 2 hours with the others, and generally the service is better. But I am open-minded so I have just been on MySupermarket.com for the last 30 minutes. I wouldnt use it.

First thing is that this site breaks the no.1 rule of internet shopping - never give your password to another website. I dont feel comfortable entering my Ocado or Tesco login details into some unrelated website. How do I know it wont get misused? They could access my credit card details saved on the actual grocery sites. I've used other price comparison websites (like https://www.uk.shopping.com and https://www.bookbrain.com) which are great at comparing products and directing you to the cheapest seller, but none of them make you disclose confidential details.

Second problem is that my web-browser (I use a Mac) tells me that the security certificate for MySupermarket is dodgy (this is the certificate that assures users that the site is genuine and has encrption etc). It says "this certificate was signed by an unknown authority". So i wouldnt take the risk of using the mysupermarket site. At least when you use any of the real online grocers you know who you are dealing with, you can trust their websites, and you can take it further if there are issues.

And lastly, even if i could get comfortable with the security risks of mysupermarket.com, it only does half the job. Comparing only the price of products ignores the other important details like delivery costs, quality, and general service.
