Mysupermarket online food shopping comparison

Another one of these "best viewed with Internet Explorer" sites.
Next we'll have car manufacturers saying, "This car best driven on A roads with a '3' in the number".
I can't run Internet Explorer (and there are lots of people who don't want to run it); hopefully this site will get corrected soon.0 -
I started off quite interested and impressed, filling up as if on the Tesco site but when I tried to switch to Sainsburys for comparison I only got their choices and couldn't get it to give me an overview so I could pick other things - therefore failing to take advantage of things like the fact that Tesco has nothing approximating Crunchy Nut Red but other supermarkets do - I was locked to Crunchy Nut Original by then. It's probably a good choice if you shop online anyway and just want the feelgood that you've saved against other supermarkets, and I may have another lookthrough sometime for individual price comparisons but my overall reaction is that it's just as frustrating if not more so (given the potential) as shopping at the host sites.Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0

unfortunately it won't let me use asda for a price comparison as they don't deliver to me address (even though they're a 5 minute drive from me).
it would be useful if you could still compare costs even though they don't deliver, just so i could use it as a basis for choosing which supermarket to go to as i don't do online supermarket shopping.0 -
I LOVE IT! I'm not going shopping without consulting this first.
Thanks Martin!Overpay!0 -
Much better User Interface and display of products than TESCO. Excellent beatutifully designed website. Was worried first when some of my favourites were missing but checked tescos and they were "not currently available".
I will prob shop at tescos anyway - but this is a much better shopping experience. Tesco IT : you have much to learn here!!!!0 -

Good insight quixy - because I don't often shop online I hadn't really taken in that the shop interface belongs to MySupermarket... but I do agree it's better than the shops themselvesDo I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
I loved this site. I occasionally use Tesco for internet shopping but usually do a weekly Asda shop - Asda doesn't deliver to my postcode.
Tesco came out cheaper than Asda and £12 cheaper than Sainsburys. The brilliant bit was at the end when it highlighted 8 items I could save a further £15 on. You can substitute their choice of cheaper item if you wish.
One was where I had chosen 2 bottles of Tesco bleach but 2 bottles of Parazone were cheaper - I'd normally just assume the own brand was cheaper. The other options were on wine, lemons (unwaxed for saver lemons) and dishwasher tablets. Really good feature .
The only minor downside was that when I switched to Tesco 3 of my fruit BOGOFs would have ended when it got to my chosen delivery day. I was shopping more than a week ahead.
I liked the layout too- when I use Tescos site I used to get so frustrated looking for my coffee amongst 300 brands- and I used to miss out whole departments, like wine or household.
I'll use it again but probably still get drawn to an actual Asda for the clothes.if i had known then what i know now0 -
I've just checked out two items I bought this afternoon, the prices are correct on this website but I could have got them elsewhere for a lot less after making the comparison!! Very useful site for when you're buying more expensive items.0

But surely 'own brand' varieties of any one product eg. beans, will vary in quality and taste dramatically from shop to shop. Most stores usually offer at least two types of 'own brand' beans, say. A cheap one and a super-cheap one.
My point being that a tin of own brand waitrose beans will probably taste superior (and allow you to live longer) than a tin of asda's.
So are we gaining, knocking ten quid off our bill by shopping elsewhere?0 -
brilliant site but it doesn't really like Firefox. Will try again with IE. Love the displays of items, much better than Tesco's own site and easier to use.0
