  • Guys,

I know how most of these things work (due to my brother designing/selling their order processing systems) and thought I'd register to have my say on this whole misprice situation.

If the company makes any decisions re processing stock, a lot of the orders are cancelled by staff and then redirected to their friends/family etc. Which is why we see so many of these products making their way onto Ebay.

Im afraid to say that most orders will be cancelled due to greedy staff members and any of those lucky enough to get one (though I doubt it) will be in the minority.

GOOD LUCK GUYS and lets really give em hell on this one!

Hmmm! Monzini, i just can't see this happening with a misprice. It would be against the law and could well be a sackable offence if someone was caught.

I don't hold much hope in getting this DVD player but i suppose as they say...you've got to be in it to win it.

Seems strange though if someone comes on here and categorically states that that is what goes on at La Redoute
  • This is absolutely outrageous!!!
They must, simply MUST honour this deal.
We all work hard and things like this are like a taste of honey from an otherwise beehive of a world.
If what Monzini is saying is correct we must act, I will be phoning them to register my disgust at this situation and pulling them up over the allegations made by Monzini.
leona71 - Do you really think the type of people that work in these places are worried about the sack? I doubt it, when they are getting all this money for exploiting the internal inadequacies of their employers.
I am off to phone them now!

Good post Bargainoli - if a little anger orientated. The fact of the matter is that this goes on time and time again and until you know how their systems work, you couldnt understand how easy it really is.

I have mentioned this to a couple of companies when orders have been cancelled due to mispricing before (HMV, Woolworths to name but a few) and at times have simply been hung up on.

Thats service for you in the customer focused world we live in today

Good luck to all. I banged one into my shopping basket as soon as the OP posted details of it (thanks by the way !), but then realised my credit card was maxed and they don't take Solo - didn't want to muck about with an account, so bailed out.

However, on reading the second post (it's a typo) I wasn't so bothered.

Here's hoping one or two slip through the net :)

and if i order one for myself and one for a relative as an xmas present does that make my actions greedy? Bulk buying is one thing, ordering for a friend or relative, who may want one but could never afford one, doesn't make you 'greedy'.....

If thats how you want to try and justify it fair enough, but its still greed!

One for yourself is fair enough, and if your family want one, tell them to get on there and order their own, but ordering one for people just because they might want one is stupid....

I might as well go and order one for every member of my family including my 6 month old nephew, because he's bound to want one when he's 16!!!

I don't think you'll ever stop people ordering more than one bargainiferous goodie, for whatever reason. It's human nature, after all. If we're in a shop and see baked beans for 1p a can, we're not going to buy just the one (extreme example, admittedly), are we ?

It's surely an academic point anyway - one or two early birds might have been lucky enough to have bagged one, but essentially the 'confirmation e-mail' from the retailer in this case legitimately allows them to pull out of the deal, as is their right (they will decline the customer's invitation to treat).

Save yourself some blood vessels and chill ;):)
