Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Blimey am I first up this morning.Blooming cold and dark.I have to be at DD earlier today as my son-in-law has to drop his car off at the garage for its MOT.Just going to get a cuppa to warm me cockles up .Hope everyone has a good day,I think you must all still be in bed snuggled down

Is it morning already? Been up and down like a yo yo in the night - wet beds, dogs scratching to be let out (I always get up for them as its nicer than cleaning the results!). Am feeling a bit rough but then the children have both had colds so have a sore throat on the way. Left the frozen cabbage out last night - so will be having bubble & squeak tonight - my favourite. In the meantime - feels freezing and I need more coffee - hugs to those in need xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast has been eaten & fish fed. Damp out this morning so no ice to scrape of the car. I'm off to work soon, don't know whats up with the kids at the moment, there are punch ups galore.
Spag bol for tea tonight, I cooked the mince yesterday & used half for cottage pie.
I finished the cream & brown scarf last night & started a black, grey & white one.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning peeps
still dark here but very quiet, i`ve got used to the strong winds that we`ve been getting a lot lately and now that its dropped it seems eerily silent.
Plans today are a bit muddled, i need to pop out for dog and catfood and to post a birthday card, my pal is popping around at some point too. She will be taking my old hand mixer and my blender with her when she goes as i no longer need them now that i have the kenwood as it does everything.
I`m trying to get my friend into the habit of cooking instead of living out of packets etc but i`ve not been having much success
She loves everything that i make that she tries and has mentioned a few times that she would like to make a few things but never does. She always ends up saying that the kids won`t eat it and giving up.
My next job is scrubbing the slowcooker before i take the woofaloes out, i made the chutney yesterday from a recipe that i was kindly given
but i ended up throwing lots of other stuff into the sc with the original ingredients, result - tastes lovely but the 6.5 litre slowcooker was rammed full and it took almost 15 hours to cook :rotfl:
I also have a giant folder of reciepts and bankified stuff to sort out, two or three hours worth i think  i keep telling myself that i`ll not let them build up quite so much next time but i hate sorting them out so much that i always do
Anyhow, i need to start scrubbing, hope that everyone has a smashing day
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon

Morning all
Still raining here - when I drove home from work yesterday the surface water was bad and the road was flooding in places and its been raining since!
Need to sort a parcel out that's getting collected, the kids are packed up and the dishwasher is stacked,
Last day at work but lots of MS work over the weekend. Need to meal plan, do shopping list, shop and do some batch cooking ready for next week too.
Hugs to those in need xClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

Morning All.
sistercas -many congrats to your DD - you must be very proud!
hester -I am so full of admiration for all your knitting! I still have to sort the dreadful tangle causde by doggie 2 before I can get on with the front of my sweater - I'd hoped to have it finished by now!
sunnyday -I am just the same, full of good intentions where paperwork is concerned, but always find myself in the same boat eventually!
Glad it's not so cold today, but it'll be a very sticky walk around the field shortly.
DS coming up for a few days, he's still very lonely in the flat. Still haven't found my missing course work - but then I haven't actually looked as i thought I had a week to find it. (I did, but the week finishes tomorrow!!) can't have been thrown out, so ridiculous really! I mean, when all's said and done this is a three bedroom semi - so not like I had a mansion to search!
Lunch today will involve making soup from the leftover slow-cooked casserole from last night. Not sure about supper, maybe lasagne.
Oh well, better make some tea and take a cup to DH, get dressed and brave the muddy walk.
Hope you all have a great day. Take care!Resolution:

Morning all
Dull and damp this morning but no frost. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Have so much to do today I don't know where to start! Have hairdressers at 9am, then I'm going to mum's to do her hair, she wanted it done before she goes into hospital next week. I need to then do washing, drying, ironing, housework, do a food shop, pack, wrap niece's christening prezzie, take that to my sis's for her to take for me, make cakes/something for the Children in Need cake stall at DS2's school for tomorrow, oh and if I get time do some cooking for home too! Phew, just reading that back it's a bit overwhelming, think I'm going to just have to try my best, maybe some things can wait - but which ones?
Tonight's dinner is going to be egg, bacon, sausage, LO mash potato fried, baked beans, etc not very healthy but have all these that need using up.
DH and myself going away in the morning, so boys being picked up by them and then looked after at their house.
Need to crack on.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.
