Plain flour - I too buy mainly Plain and add baking powder as needed! (I do have a packet of SR flour - but thats cos OH did the shop and as usual got the things I dont normally use). Don't worry it wont go to waste! I will use it, just prefer the plain flour.0

I have a Recipe book compiled by The American Women's Club of Edinburgh which I find invaluable for this sort of issue. All purpose is Plain flour. We also found this out to our cost when we made a banana loaf at my sister-in-law's home in California using All Purpose flour - it failed to rise!0

yes, plain flour with no additives. Isn't it strange how even buying flour has become an art? Plain, self-rising, pastry, cake, bread, winter-wheat....sheesh.0
