  • Hello Poor sore Lilac Pixie,

Well as far as I am concerned if you are in that much pain they wont let you go until 37 weeks (which in my books is full term) or if you have protein in your urine and you are very puffy.

So if you had the little pixie now all would be well but may not suck so you would need to wait a few days for him or her to feed properly before going home - that's all. But by 35 weeks the suck is fully operational so 35 weeks is your goal if you can get there (which you may not) - that is a week and a half away. Do be careful with your urine monitoring because if there is protein you need to take it seriously and get thy self to hospital but really if that baby needs to come out, it needs to come out.

I had twins and once past 25 weeks (viable) aimed for 30 weeks (doable) then aimed for 35 weeks (fully cooked and ready to come home) I had them at 37 weeks and 2 days absolutely full term (except if you are French then full term is 42 weeks - gotta love the French eh). Really just sit on your ar*e and do nothing but cook baby now cos it is a few short weeks in your life. Possibly your last pregnancy and last baby so just chill.

By the way I had a 5 lb 2 oz girl who was very small and looked prem to me (rather odd) but people will always tell you they had a 1lb child that was born at 24 weeks and all is well now. What I am saying is don't think this will be a bouncing 7 lb baby cos at 5lb it may look like a dinosaur baby from an egg!!!! The codeine thing - they will just watch baby to ensure she/he is not appearing to have any discomfort or obvious withdrawal surely at 33 weeks preg baby is fully made just gaining weight, sorting out its lungs(done now) and its suck. You need to do, what you need to do lady and that is just let the world go by and watch your mother make a fist of your mopping...

By the way you are fab and I love your thread. I don't subscribe because I don't know how but I read avidly. I hope you don't mind my comments but it is an odd time being pregnant and especially odd if you are not in control.

    Bye pp (in training)
Debt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total
    April 2016 £114,599.83 (3 mortgages now)
Nil debt for some many years now perhaps 8. Need to save for a tent for holiday this year but nil else.
Over paying about £500 per month but fancy £600 so will have to think of some very money saving techniques...

with pelvic pain and blinding headaches i am takig 60mg of codein every 6-8 hours now I have a choice and the choice is totally mine. I either stop taking it and switch to paracetemol (which doesn't touch the pain) or I continue taking it and baby will need to be closely monitored after birth and treated for drug withdrawal symptoms.
I really am stuck in an impossible place and just want to cry be given an instruction or something

If it was me, I would try to cope on the paracetamol, because I have had a baby monitored for low blood sugar which is a side effect of AD's I was taking, that meant heel pricks every couple of hours for blood tests and there is no way you want to be doing that to your new baby if you can avoid it.

Maybe find out what they mean by "monitoring"?

She's definitely a Mum, and your DH is definitely a man...did you say "Scaletrix my !!!!" or words to that effect?

Hugs, LP. It will all be worth it.

madwife been and gone. my bp is stable, but ++ protein in wee. she seemed nice enough but was a bit oh thats OK see you again tomorrow really they have no clue what the hell is going on. It seems to be while BP not getting worse I stay home if BP higher or climbing then I have to go back to hospital.

My hands are so puffy my wedding ring won't even go on my pinkie finger I have no knees just fluid. all so tight and achey. my already bad veins are not hidden under 3 inches of fluidy flab so they made a right mess getting bloods on Wednesday and then one tube coagulated. They are trying to avoid going in for more until some bruising has cleared as well because of pain.

things I have acheived today.... umm nothing other than not killing my mum. Drawers for baby room arrived today, they are in hallway.

oh and I posted on the savings board about longterm regular savings plans or accounts to set us up for December 2020 MF attempt.

Hehe happy new year to everyone. MIL says i need to behave as she is on nightshift tonight, she does not want a new year preemie grandchild :) OH says he isn't having a drink just in case, I think he should have a few as its new year and i'm fine. Not in imminent danger of giving birth so no point stressing.

Just had a 2 hour nap as i felt so so tired, feel a bit better now :)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
