Is it just me... Who mentioned compensation ?? Nowhere in OP posts does it even mention the word!! (And I am very glad not to read "Think of the Children" anywhere :rotfl:)'Almost' is the important word.
Exactly - and isn't it YOUR duty of care as well as the stores to report potential dangerous situations ? (Fair enough - no serious harm caused - but who is to know that the next person to have a stuck trolley does not get away so lightly)
OP - You should have reported this at the time to the Store Manager, who should have then made an entry in the Accident Book (Even though it probably would have been classed as a "Near miss")
A few years ago I was in a big store looking for kitchen weighing scales. They where not high up on the shelves but were stacked end on (As you would expect in order to view the pictures).
However, one fell off the shelf and caught my daughter on the foot. Obviously no real damage - just a few tears (hers, not mine) - and that was probably down the the shock of it all
We went to Customer Services who took us off in to a quite room - the store First Aider had a look at the foot (Even though we didn't really think it was necessary) and filled and entry into the book. Daughter got a lolly pop for her trouble. (Customer Service as it should be)
BUT, more importantly, when we returned to complete our shopping, there were store staff rearranging the kitchen scales so that they could not fall off the shelves quite so easily (i.e. they laid them flat so it would not occur again)

So what are you suggesting here - that the store staff should check all trolleys in case of stray threads? :rotfl:Gone ... or have I?0 -

Not at all, but the least that should have happened is that the incident was reported at the time and logged. What the store chooses to do with the information is up to them.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Assuming that the daughter is not still being squashed, I think it is time to bring this matter to a close.0

Totally agree. Hence my statement that it should have been "reported at the time" :T“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
