Hmmm.... would you have wanted Diana's ring?

  • I think as Kate's being referred to as a 'modern style icon', I don't think the ring suits the image she's supposed to portray. IMO, a modern woman would not want such a huge and dated gold ring on her finger. I'm sure there are wonderful sentiments involved, but it's just not nice!!!!!!!!

Yes, that's my sentiments entirely! They were saying it on tv this morning - her clothes are horrible!!!!!!!!! The engagement outfit and shoes were horrible - old before her time!!!!!!! I was quite ashamed when I found out she's linked to Party Pieces, as I bought stuff from there for my daughter's 1st birthday. I'm not a Royalist in any way, shape or form!

Aye, it's a funny old world when an heir to the throne gets engaged to a shop assistant.

Given the unfortunate turn of Diana and Charles' marriage, would you have wanted to have been given the groom's mother's engagement ring?

Not if I was expected to wear it. I'm not a fan of jewellery at the best of times, but being given women's jewellery would just be weird as I'm a bloke.

If I was allowed to flog it and keep the cash, it'd be great, though...

How long before there's copies on the shelves of Elizabeth Duke @ Argos?

    QVC have them already.

Camilla's ring used to belong to The Queen Mother.
