Hi, Wobble, you're not alone! The plumber needed lots of coffee whilst 'fixing' my loo. He'll be back today for the central heating. After I've finished here i'll mop the bathroom floor, yep the new loo is leaking!!
The bedroom is coming on but my daughters' room is a bombsite and it looks no better after they attacked it yesterday, I think its time for me to go in, no arguments!
Have a good day all xxxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Good morning Penelope Penguin (and everyone).
Manged to get back to base camp for basic supplies.
Having got through the 'it always looks worse before it looks better' phase, I now want it to look smart and empty, but that was never going to happen.
I have found a length of lost fabric, but in the process dropped knitting needles over the back of my desk, from where they will not emerge until Time Team investigate the primitive way we lived in 2006.0 -
Hi all:hello:
Been lurking since this started, DD's are holidaying with grandparents last week & this week and I meant to take the time (whilst working from home) to sort out their rooms as they still hadn't managed to unpack everything from when we moved back in. Anyway you inspired me! Office was a tip and I can only tidy that on weekend so I thought perhaps I should do that as well even if I didn't finish their rooms because that way they wouldn't miss out on a weekend doing something. To cut a long story short I have finished both bedrooms (except for vacumning & small DIY jobs) and Office is mostly done including filing cabinet!:j
Starting to flag a bit now which is why I'm posting this - I want to say thanks for the inspiration and now publicly state that I'm going to have a clean house top to bottom for when DD's get back so I can spend Sunday Evening & Monday morning spending quality time with them (have a meeting Monday PM)
Already done Downstairs Hall
Next on list boiler cupboard (scary place with a huge box of unmatched socks! )
Off now - back soon!0 -

Anyway have a great day to all, new and old. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Sorry lynz - I only call it that 'cos I haven't been out that way before. Went to Walthamstow and it was lovely and the people were really nice.lynzpower wrote:TNG what i dont get about your pics is tht there were LOADS of books stacked up and piled all over, I dont get where theyve all gone? Not a lot gets past you, does it! No, some have been 'reallocated' to another bookshelf and the rest have been 'boxed'. When I mentioned this to Mrs Fly she gave me 'that face', so I don't think they'll be going far. We're taking delivery of some new shelves shortly (hurrah - more shelves :wall: ) so I suspect that they will end up there.

Morning, all!
Study "after" photos being uploaded now. The room is now dusted and polished. I've posted a pile of stuff for freecycling, and chucked a load of old stuff. I now have room in there, which I'm going to use as I need to empty my spare room for a complete decoration.
Today's task is :Car (or other vehicle) clean and tidy.
It's threatening to storm here, so I may be in the shed polishing my bike!

Lynz, thanks for your kind comments about my "office" (I will use that word from now on!). It's only narrow (you can see all of it in the photos) so I had a friendly joiner make me a desk top and shelves to fit the space exactly.
TNG, love your new shelves - another Bill Bryson fan! My question was about the unusual lamp combo to the left of the "before" pic. What is it and where is it now?
Wendy, so glad you're back with us - I wads quite worried.

lynzpower....plastic and wooden needles. I'm not sure that a magnet on string would have made it through the fluff and cobwebs anyway. (I have now dusted behind the radiator).
Penelope P...I too am jealous of your office...I am going to use your pictures to lobby for shelves.0
