Question for people who hate their job

I find myself very lucky I have a job.
Im 43 and dont have the brains or ideas to become self employed. Thats just how I was born. I loved working for BT but had to leave as they outsourced our dept then I left that in 2008 with a good red package which helped pay my bills and debt and improve my house. I now earn £3k less a year. I was on £17225 a year and now earn £14.5 k a year. I am still applying non-stop for better paid jobs and want to work in manchester again because I miss it.
My only debt is £42k mortgage. £550 overdraft and £2k on credit card. I find I am grateful for the savings I make by food shopping, not going out, no gym fees etc, bills as cheap as I can get them and also paying csa for my daughter is always paid. I am proud that I am doing fine. Ok I dont have holidays and struggle when car tax has to be paid but it could be worse.Mortgage Free 2016Work Part Time:DHouse Hunting In France 20230 -
Thank Steve your so thoughtful love :T,Yes Cindy, no one else has it as bad as you do. :wall:
Why don't you write some letters and deliver them to the shops around where you live asking if they have any night work available? Why doesn't your husband try to find another job that pays more than what he is on?
my partner already has a full time job and it may not be great pay but i hardly think its the time to be giving up a long term employment position to be looking for other work, do you Steve??,,,
as for my local shops , i have already done this thanks your soooo sweet to offer such great advice tho,,:A.
I guess im just like people on here who are moaning about their job's like i am moaning about my caring duties we are all human and sometimes when you have been stuck doing something for so long it can get triersome ,
Im guessing everyone would like to be doing something different at times and for me Steve i feel a Big life change coming on and am looking to take my life in a new direction,
i would hope that withing the next 3 years my Son will become more independent needing less help from me,
i could have a full time Job, (im not fussy what i do anything would be a change)
And you Steve hows the job search going sweetheart any luck?
I do hope you have everything in life that you deserve
,,,
ohh and i hope my spelling wasn't to bad for you hun

But then who looks after them during the day whilst you are sleeping? You can't stay awake for 24 hours a day.
ohhh your so sweet to worry about me like this,,
When i did the Tesco night work trial i found it ok,
im a bit of an insomniac Steve always have been,,
admittedly school holidays would be a bit of a bummer but i guess i'll have to find a summer play scheme like i did when i was a single parent working full time,,
im sure when i get a job everything else will fall into place,
i wish you all the luck in the world mate,,, im now going to dish up the wonderful Roasf Beef for my wonderful hubby who works so hard for us all,
much love Steve

Why would your husband need to give up his current job before looking for another job?
My job search is fine thanks, I'm STILL working whilst looking for another job, therefore no drop in salary so not sure why your bringing that up?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -

If it doesn't pay for the outgoings you have then no he's not better off being where he is.
I'm not concerned for you at all, not sure where you got that impression from.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -

The trouble with starting a business is you have to deal with people - and if people skills are the one big thing that you're completely hopeless at, then you're doomed. I can't network, can't do social events, can't do chit-chat/small talk. And I can't deal with queries/complaints either.
Running a business requires a full skill-set, not just the ability to do one job well - but the ability to do the things that actually win the business: schmoozing, networking and selling, these are skills of manipulative and often egotistical people .... and so, since they've got those skills, they'll create the businesses and we'll all whinge about hating work
