Question for people who hate their job

...if it bothers you that much, why don't you start your own business? Eventually you may end up taking on staff and seeing what a bloody nuisance they are!

I hated my job because management were pretty clueless of the morale of the work force under their control, it was more like a dictatorship.
  • I notice you hated it. Which implies you did something about it...

    See what I'm getting at?

  • I find it amazing some of the complaints that come on this bored and often I reply saying 'If you don't like it leave and create your own business'

Me too it's not that easy and if it's well paid then there is no chance of going. I loved my job until we got new clueless management.

For the same reason as my wife. She works for a family friend who has a sign making business and has done for over a decade. She can can run the place and he trained her to do everything as he's retiring, leaving her to do more and more. He's offered her the business for a song and has said that she is more than capable of running it.

The reason she is reluctant is the initial period with no income and the removal of the safety net of a guaranteed weekly wage.

i hated my job because i'd been moved from a specialised department into one i had MUCH lesser knowledge of, was under EXTREME pressure to sell warranties & loyalty cards which were not very economical for the customer (including on individual game discs) and was fed up having worked my backside off for no thanks, pay freezes for 2 years - and that was before the debacle which was their treatment of me during a time in my life where a retail job really shouldn't have been an issue!

Tell you, sometimes it takes a pretty hefty scare to make you realise that some things, just aren't worth the hassle.
