I ran my own business for 30+ yrs and it eventually was wound up in 2009 due to lack of demand for what I was doing (small printing business).
Now I work hard in a factory for a rubbish wage - looked for better jobs but there aint much demand for 50+ yr olds these days despite what the "no ageism" numptys like to think.
I am now trying to downsize my home for the 2nd time in 3yrs so that I can clear some debt and get back to doing something self employed - what you may ask? Good question, I have no idea yet; but am researching as much as I can.

What did you do? Could you not start that up again?

I doubt the demand will have picked up that much since last year :(

Independent printers are struggling everywhere thanks to the online businesses and places like Asda and Tesco moving into the market.

corrr i suppose as your working you all have your reasons to hate your job,
me id love to be in a job right now get me out of the house ,
it comes to something when you go to greggs bakers and feel jealous of the staff serving you cos they seem happy and are joking with work colleges , :)

id love to have that, id love to converse with other people outside caring for mum and son All the time,
im really starting to feel i just want a little bit of my life back to be my own person,,

when i did that tesco trail it did feel good to get outta the house and not have to worry about mum getting to the loo, or up to the bath,
or wiping my 12 year olds bum,,,

was only stacking shelves i did but was nice to do something different and get away from home,,
i think your all lucky to be in work ,
wish i didnt have to be so fussy about times i can work, id love to just go get any old day job,,
but i could only do nights and needs to be close to home,

Yes Cindy, no one else has it as bad as you do. :wall:

Why don't you write some letters and deliver them to the shops around where you live asking if they have any night work available? Why doesn't your husband try to find another job that pays more than what he is on?

If you were going to work, who would be caring for them? Would you have to pay somebody?

But then who looks after them during the day whilst you are sleeping? You can't stay awake for 24 hours a day.
