    Hi

Please make sure you have smoke detectors in all the room downstairs and in the hall.

Work out how you might leave the house if downstairs was on fire.

There are exit ladders that hang over the window and allow you to climb out; I have one in on the second floor but it might be useful any way.

Thanks, we do have detectors over the house. Front and back door and have been over the escaping from the second floor a few times.

We also have the dog (who was the one who alerted us to the car) and she hates the post man. Anything comes near our letterbox and she will bark blue murder.

I have. My neighbour and my mother went down for a meeting with the head of the housing. So far he hasn't got back to us. (the latest being tomorrow) and from the impression he gave he wasn't too concerned about moving us and my neighbours impression was that he thought we were overreacting and that the work being carried out by the police should settle our minds (clearly didn't understand the worry and fear we have).

    Have you considered renting privately?

There are people out there who have homes on mortgages and suffer the same issues.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

No hubby. Just me, my mum and sister. The neighbours husband had words with them a while back and thats what has made them more of a target. If you speak out the problems will get worse.

The men in the area are silanced as even though you could give one a gob full (or kick in) there are many and there is little you can do to protect yourself and your car once they have decided your the target. You would have to live like meerkats on guard!

We just can't afford. We struggle as it is. I understand there are people who have these problems with a mortgage but they can sell the house (eventually). We only have the council to reply on and they don't seem to be concerned.

If criminal acts are occurring then it is a Police matter and they have a general duty to identify the perpetrators and prosecute them.

The Council cannot be held responsible for the criminal acts of others.

If you were to be allocated a police case worker and that person or a senior police officer were to suggest you be moved then you may get some progress but up until that time the council will not act.

They will take the view that it could occur to another family that move in after you.

If the police cannot/will not help you then short of getting a male streetwise family member to mete out like with like on the ringleader(s) there is probably not much else you can do.

If all you have had round is a PCSO that is not good enough. Look up who the chief constable is for your police force and write him/her a letter. Let them know that you are not happy with the way your situation is being handled and that you would like to arrange a meeting with somebody in authority in the police force to discuss your situation. This should hopefully have some impact. Also contact your local MP and councillors. They should be able to look into the situation and get things moving. Having had your property destroyed by arson, this is rather more serious than the local housing association is thinking the situation is. Time for some action.

    What have the police said?

You can speak to the council and ask to be rehoused.

You should have a list of all dates and crime reference numbers.
