I live in an expensive, private, apartment complex in the city center. In my bedroom I have some music production equipment which. I produce Dubstep for a living. Next to my bedroom is her living room. At one point I would play the music a little loud because I was unaware of how thin the walls are. After we spoke about it…

To be fair to the OP (and I've slagged him off more than most), he did realise that it was a problem and intended to try to speak to the neighbour and to rent premises for the noisy part of his work.

I think the thread then became a general debate about to what extent do people feel justified in pursuing their own interests (ie making noise) to the detriment of neighbours trying to pursue their own interests (ie having a bit of peace).

I think most people accept that certain activities on a daily basis are unsuitable for living in an apartment complex with thin walls.
