Hey, hope you don't mind me joining in. I have been reading the thread and it has really spured me on to get the money sorted next year. I would love to be organised and try and make a dent in some of the debts we hold and not add to them like this year!

I have got my diary and have begun sorting it into organised sections. Please keep this thread going it will really help me get motivated through the year.

It's so nice to see such inspiring and positive people trying so hard to get sorted... and I'm going to try and be the same! I'm gonna get on the Google Calendar (as I spend so much time on computers) to do this so fingers crossed I'll be much better at becoming debt free in 2011

Hi all ~ im so totally unorganised its embrassing

Im always forget things so a diary for me will not only help me keep track of finances but also life in general

I had strict instructions from my mum to spend the money she sent me for christmas on something for myself, so i bought myself a beautiful leather filofax with the idea it will last for years as they just need a new refill each year.

I just now need to sort through the piles of paper work under my bed and get all renewal dates, payments due, go through the kitchen draw and find all the appointment cards for dentists / doctors ect.

Roll on 2011 :T

Just remember to buy the refills on ebay..they cost a fortune in the shops!

Thanks ~ I got the filofax and refill off ebay ( for very good price ) would of cost £115 for the filofax from the filofax website :eek:

I think I need to join in - used to be super organised but that went to pot at the beginning of last year when we moved so I need to get back in the swing of things.

Got a B&M around here so I think I will get the pocket diary!

If a direct debit is due to go out on a saturday, what day will it go out ?
If a direct debit is due to go out on a sunday, what day will it go out ?

If a standing order is due to go out on a saturday, what day will it go out ?
If a standing order is due to go out on a sunday, what day will it go out ? on the monday i think as this happened this month with rent due to go out on the 19th sunday, it actually went out on 20th monday and stopped us getting charged as i got paid on 20th monday as well

with direct debits and standing orders that fall on a weekend the day it will come out will be the next working day which is Monday after, unless Monday is bank holiday then it will be the Tuesday. The 1st working day in January 2011 is 4th January, so this is when direct debits/standing orders from 1st, 2nd and 3rd will all be debited.
