What a wonderful film. At over 2 1/2 hours it's quite long but very compelling and I have to say I enjoyed the film being in his native Dutch with the subtitles.

Highly recommended as a serious film.

On another note we seem to have been following recently, I have to say my opinion is that the Ambassador Screening codes should not be posted on this site. From what I gather they only provide sufficient ticket numbers for the number of Ambassadors appointed for that particular cinema, and as I understand it that depends on the size and location of the cinema so maybe Vue in the middle of London will have 15 ambassadors but Vue in Inverness will only have 4. The whole point of the scheme is that a report has to be reurned to SeeFilmFirst by 12 noon of the day following the screening regarding the film and answering various questions. If any old person uses this Seefilmfirst are going to get wise to this very quickly as they are not going to get the reports they were expecting and the ambassadors who were supposed to get in to see the film will not have managed to get a ticket with their special code and as such will no doubt alert Seefilm first. All of this could lead to more security such as has been happening with ID being checked etc etc.

I think if you are lucky enough to have been selected as an Ambassador you should do the job asked of you and if you can't go yourself be honest about it and tell them that you can't go and your ticket will go back into the general pot for someone else that really wants to see that particular film.

I just think we are all in danger of the "abuse it and risk loosing it" with this and that really would be a shame.

I'll get off my high-horse now.

  • go here for map and info - it's a very nice boutique hotel with a chic little cocktail bar right in the heart of fun and bustling Soho but I am a little concerned that becuse it's not a proper cinema the viewing might be a conference room with no proper down slope (rake) so if you get someone big/tall in front of you, the view will be restricted.

Plus what will the sound be like ?

You can't beat a really good professional cinema experience - it'll be interesting to see what they do - I'm gonna go if only for the education (oh and maybe a tipple at the bar)

you know when you're getting older - the wife says, "let's go upstairs and make love" and you reply, "I can't do both" !!

I went to see Smokin Aces in Coventry - could not decide if I liked it or not!!!
The cinema was full to busting - not one seat left - usually you can have a row to yourself!!!!
It was nice to see that people had used their tickets for a change! :)

    Spikey,
Suggest you go for a balanced approch to your 5 fav films ranging from an old one, a classic, a blockbuster etc!

Also depends how many other applications/people they have for that cinema so pick an unpopular cinema and you'll increase your chances.

I think that you are right about the allocation. I have been selected as an Ambassodor and tried to book tickets within two hours of the e-mail being sent out by SeeFilmFirst, only to be told that there were no seats available. I did complain to SeeFilmFirst but have not received a reply.

I wonder if they will make the remaining seats available at another date with a different code?
