McDonald's employees are not allowed to accept tips
I don't agree with tipping, unless there has been exceptional service. My DH seems obsessed with leaving a tip at every restaurant we go to. He would even leave one in our pizza place that does buffet service. WhyI don't understand it in this country at all.

I tip in restaurants with a rough rule of 10% if the service was ok/good and 15% if it was ecellent. If it was excellent I make a point of giving it to the waiter/ress in person so I know they get it. I fi have bad or surly service then it's a big fat 0%!
I tip taxis as a round up so if my fair costs £6.20 I'll call it £7.
I don't tip anyone else really - unless I've had a few beers then teh barmaid might get one for herself etcHouse saving Targets:
£17,700 / £20,0000 -
I tip as most waiting staff who work very long and very hard only get the tips as wages as their employer uses the tips to make up the minimum wage. Else they make about £2 an hour. Saying that though service has generally gone to pot in this country being a customer means nothing anymore and !!!!ing us off these business could no longer care less. I was in a restaurant and ordered 2 fillet steaks cooked medium at around £27 each. I got 2 sirloins burnt to charcoal. I complained and the manageress said that they go darker as the cook steaks over coals. I instantly knew she was a joke and failed to even notice they werent even fillets they had served but sirloins. Her offer was to take one off the bill. I declined and said you can take them both back ad bring me the 2 medium fillet steaks that i ordered. I only wanted what i asked for it was like i ordered chips and they thought bringing out mash was ok.

I've left taxis in India and Thailand with the driver saying "No tip?!?". It just seems tips are expected in some places even if it's all prepaid! When travelling, I usually carry small notes with me for exactly these situations...although there was one time when I arrived in Thailand and only had fresh 1000 Baht notes in my wallet...I just smiled at the driver and left! Felt so bad as they probably don't even earn what I was carrying as "loose change".0

The Japanese restaurant as their service is amazing, and they are incredibly polite,...
If you were in Japan, no tip would be expected and the staff would probably try to give any tip back to you.0 -
If I've had good service in a restaurant I'll tip but will only leave as cash for the person waiting on our table as that way there's more chance it goes to that person - I won't add it on to the credit card payment0
