you're not complaining about everything Annibee, she just sounds very inconsiderate and especially not fair on you and kids x. Maybe start writing things in a diary, dates, times etc just in case you need it in future:D

Annibee, i know the feeling, we live in a terrace. We get on with our neighbours, but one side is an asian family and they do an awful lot of screaming and shouting at each other, really loud. The other side i never hear.
We used to have students on the now quiet side, we complained once and they were really apologetic and put a card through the letterbox the next day. Then it changed, some of the students were very rude. They played music til all hours of the morning and left their front door open when they had parties, so it was an open invite to anyone. When my oh said something, he just got abuse. So one morning at about 6am, probably a couple of hours after they'd gone to bed, he turned the speakers round to their wall, turned the amp on and blasted some music back at them. It calmed down for a while.
Then my sil got fed up one day, went out our back gate in thru theirs, let herself in through their back door and had a few quiet words with them, i think they were that gobsmacked that she'd just walked in that they didn't know what to say.

Its a difficult situation to be inthough, because you don't want to cause offense, but you also can't put up with it. I think when the baby is here, they may get to hear some of the baby crying in the night, so they may start to understand how thin the walls are. Although on saying that, if they're kids they probably won't give a carp.

I'd perhaps have a word with the mum and explain your worries. Do it in a nice way and if you don't get anywhere, perhaps get in touch with your local council-its noise pollution isn't it?

I love MSE as I have gotten so many bargains towards things. Can't imagine why folks wouldn't shop about for the best deals!!! lol
Depending on your financial and other circumstances sometimes the time is worth more than the money. If I was rich enough I would just buy everything new and then give it to the charity shop after I was finished with it so that someone with less money could benefit from it and the charity would gain.

    Good Evening Ladies,

Sorry, haven't read back past the last page.

Annie - Can you contact your Council's Noise team and see what they suggest? Do your neighbours rent or do they own? If they rent can you complain to their Landlord? The only thing I would be wary of is if you decide to sell up in the future then you have to declare any neighbour disputes which could hinder a sale. Tough call I know - Ihope you get it resolved.

Nic - I would love to play Words with Friends :D I love FB Scabble and all that jazz. I assume we don't have to pay for it on the iPhone. Do you want to PM me the details?

I had a very productive day today - chose and bought the nursery range and emptied the room right down to bare necessities so we can start decorating next week :j Very excited - esp as MIL is doing the decorating :o:D

My current mission is to find some fitted and flat sheets for the cotbed and some pram/moses sheets. Where do you guys recommend - anywhere :money: would be fabby!

Oh while I remember - are all you ladies washing all your baby clothes before baby wears them??
We (well OH) washed everything because it was all second hand and I'll probably get him to wash all the newborn things this time because by the time the baby is born they'll have been sitting around in a box for four years. Last time I had a bit of an obsession with hygiene while pregnant so I made him rewash anything which touched the floor (inside our house where we don't walk with outdoor shoes anyway) but I'm going to try not to be so extreme about it this time - I had no idea I was being so weird until after I stopped being pregnant.

Speaking of dentists, are the rumours I hear about being able to get free dental treatment when preggers true? Can I just go to any dentist, produce my bump and ask them to fix my teefs?

Apparently bad abdominal pain can make you throw up. (Or at least that's what the Dr told me when I ended up in hospital with a really bad urine infection because I was throwing up so much.)

I think it's NHS dentists and you get it whilst pregnant and for a year after the birth with your maternity exemption card thing.
