  • completely off topic but if you were to bake a wedding cake and the 10 inch base layer becomes mishapen would you a) rebake or b) reshape into a heart so it looks intentional?

I am at the stage of pregnancy where leaning forward is a no no. So am feeling puffed out, shattered etc and only 9-11 weeks remaining yay:eek:

    Hello ladies,

Just a heads up for those with Next Accounts - VIP slots are out, so check your online account to see if you got one. Starts 6pm on Wednesday - loads of baby stuff and maternity stuff :j

Ticklepenny - Bad luck about the cake. Perosnally I would try and bake another to get it round. But you might as well try and reshape the original one. Will it match the other tiers?

Good luck for those with scans :j

What is everyone doing about the flu/swine flu jab? I normally have the flu jab every year due to asthma but haven't had it done this year as I wanted to keep injections and the like to a minimum. But the resurgence of swine flu is making me doubt my decision. What to do???

Tickle,If your confident I'd try and re shape it. Then if your not happy with it then re bake.

I feel rubbish today,I have the start of the lurgy. Of course oh is in bed dying!

We have to venture out soon as DD is highland dancing at an afternoon tea. She's all excited as it's her first show at her new dancing.

My 20w scan is on Tuesday. I'll be 22weeks by then. I might have both ds and dd with me as the schools were closed on Friday and there was less snow than there is now. And there's loads more snow forecast.

Hope everyone is staying in the warm this evening, we had planned to go to the cinema but the roads are terrible as we've had lots of snow during the day today so we are staying in.

Nice bump Shazza - I love your top. Where is it from?

DH and I stayed in last night. Spent hours playing Lego Batman on the Wii :o and then watched Father of the Bride 2 - funny!!!

I'd reshape, cos I'm too lazy to bake another one :o

I've been wondering about this actually, thanks for asking Sammy :) I've never had a flu jab before so I've no idea how to go about getting the flu/swine flu jab - would the doctors ask me to go for one or would I need to ask them? I've read in the paper (though I know you can't believe everything you read!) that every pregnant woman should have it as our immune systems are compromised already and that there's no risk of catching flu/swine flu from the jab, but I'm still unsure...

Sorry to hear you're poorly too Nic, hey at least we're a generous bunch on here! :rotfl: Hope DD's dancing goes well, be careful when you do venture out and good luck for your scan xxx

The shopping one sounds good fairy, how do you sign up for that?

They don't take open applications. I've only ever seen them recruit once I'm afraid and that was when I signed up. They put a card through my letterbox which I responded to :o

  • I swear to god my scan dates are cursed. We're surrounded by snow still. It hasn't moved since yesterday and the roads are still covered. I'm not sure we'll make it tomorrow now. Kids to my mums today has been cancelled so now we'll have a rush in the morning to try to get everywhere.

I've not finished my Xmas shopping and i'm generally down in the dumps about it all. nothappy.com :(

Princess i've pm'd you my code hun. Not using it here so enjoy. If anyone wants one next month just let me know.

Anyone here do comping? I'm thinking about setting aside half hour each day while on mat leave to enter as many as possible. Some of the prizes some people win on the comping board are great - I'm not so lucky me. I do it for about a month then get bored. Not won a single thing!

The TNS food survey thing you do sounds like a bit of a ballache :o think that would be even too much for me to be prepared to have a go and I am usually quite patient when it comes to surveys and suchlike.

I have been comping since 2004, in the early days I did really well and have won lots of stuff including a holiday for 6 people in our own private apartment to Sardinia, numerous tickets for events, CD's, DVDs, cash. vouchers, spa days. These days I don't win anywhere near as much mainly because more people are entering and I have less spare time to be able to to dedicate to comping properly (to do it properly takes a lot of time and effort). In a good week I could quite easily enter 200 - 300 competitions but it is very hit and miss whether you win - then if you don't enter you don't have any chance at all.

Am going to have a purge on entering today seeing as I am at home and don't have much else to do.

Thanks :) its from Next in the maternity range £16 and it is SO comfy! Plenty of room for expansion too so I think it would be one that would last for the duration. I had ummed and aahed about it for ages but am really glad I decided to get it.

Having a lazy day today. OH wants to go into town but I am reluctant to take the car out unless I absolutely have to, there isn't anything I need in town anyway so not much point in me going really.

  • Afternoon all.

I'm having a grumpy day too. Just feeling general annoyance at OH, even though he hasn't really done anything. In fact he's just sat on the sofa watching crap tv since he got up..maybe that's what I'm finding annoying!

I'm meeting a girl from my yoga class for a coffee a bit later, would like to walk down to meet her as feel like I haven't done any exercise since I finished work..but it's too icy on my road so OH is going to drive me down..he seems very keen for me to go out. No doubt so he can continue to sit on his ar5e and do nothing all day with no fear of being nagged!

Maybe it's just because we are getting near to D-Day I'm panicking a bit and feel we should be doing 'stuff'..I know he has a right to chill at the w/e though.

Bah..sorry for the rant. Just feeling a bit meh...
