Giz and Ice, don't worry, you WILL be fine :)

It is scary (I was exactly the same with no1 - had never changed a nappy, or held a tiny baby, and I frighten small children :rotfl:) - but babies are much more robust than they look, you won't hurt them. And by the end of the first couple of weeks, you'll have done over 100 nappies, changed dozens of outfits and done goodness knows how many feeds of whatever sort you decide on. You'll be an old pro by then :)

And you'll be the best Mummy your baby could ever have, because no-one will ever love them the way you do.

Well said! My OH was the same at 36 he had never held a baby infact he'd never taken any interest in having kids till we got together. The first time he held a child was the moment our daughter was born and although he was worried about dropping her (hes very clumsy) he took to itr like a duck to water. He has since dropped our daughter but she's fine she just bounced, he also let her roll off the sofa, and let her pram tip over. She is absolutely fine, no scars, no fears of the sofa or pram. Babies are really robust and the love you provide them is all they really need :D

    Hi ladies

Just wondering what the "rules" are about asking for a planned c-section? The reason I ask is that we live at the base of the Peak District so when the snow hits, it really hits. Plus we've had a letter through from the council about road closures throughout January and February, and if they coincide we're going to really struggle to find a quick route to the hospital!

Awww schucks guys. I feel so loved on here....and my mobile has not stopped getting texts of concern.

Looking at the news it's just as well that we didn't make it to Manchester with the M6 problems of the evening.

I managed to freak myself in to thinking I had pneumonia last night after (sorry tmi) coughin up brown goo. All I can say is avoid google when poorly! I just ended up ringing to get an appointment to see a proper doc instead but when they did the questionnaire they advised I go within 6 hours . I said I'm off to bed can I do 9 instead and they said ok.:T

So went to hospital this morning. BP good, pulse good, I'm generally healthy apart from this so the doc prescribed antibiotics to get rid of a chest infection. Nice strong ones too :) Hopefully Bubs won't mind them but I'm sure it would be more glad to have be not waking it up in coughing fits. So it's back to the sofa for me for the day.:A I also said I was concerned I hadn't had the flu jab and he said he hadn't either and that I shouldn't worry as I'm healthy. It doesn't protect against everything. It made me feel better plus the fact that GP surgerys get paid to give them makes it a bit of a money-making thing for them too.

For those who haven't bought a baby shawl/pram blanket, this is the most softest gorgeous thing I've bought for bubs so far and can highly recommend and only £6! http://direct.asda.com/george/baby-clothes/unisex/bobble-shawl/GEM52922,default,pd.html

Keep warm, stay safe and keep growing them babies ladies. x

Not sure if they'd plan one just in case of bad weather...but they would always call an air ambulance if it was crucial and time was against you.

Anyone else got tonnes of snow? We normally don't get any here but we've loads now and it's still coming - I can't help but be thrilled, I love snow! Less good for poor Hubs having to drive in it but me and Moo are chuffed :T

Its coming down like mad here (Buckinghamshire). Normally, I love the snow but I'm pooing my pants about the idea of falling over or being in a car accident and hurting the bump. Also we have had to cancel seeing my sister-in-law (we won't see her till after Xmas now) and worse still my nephew's 4th birthday party :(

    It is darned pretty though!

Anyone else feel like they are not ready at all for their baby coming????

See, I have a plan. The baby is going to be late.... about a year late. Long enough for me to actually empty the spare room, paint it, and turn it into a nursery, oh, and buy all the things I need (like a car seat, bedding, more clothes etc) All those things. I'm really not convinced 87 days is long enough to sort all that out!

In all fairness though, I've requested baby items for Christmas so I'm waiting to see what comes in then, and with the baby being part of team yellow, it's really hard to buy clothes as they are almost all blue or pink.
