Thanks for the reminder. I do keep forgetting.
Am waaay behind with reading posts at the mo, but will try and catch up today.
Had a MW appointment on Wednesday. Sproglet was awake and active until I got into the surgery, at which point he went to sleep. MW said "shall we have a feel then" so I lay down. As soon as she touched my tummy it went rock hard, so she was unable to feel anything. So she decided to have a listen to the heartbeat. We had a couple of seconds hearing it before someone gave it an almighty shove then moved so we couldn't find the heartbeat any more. I really must have the most awkward bump ever.
Am measuring 28, and am 32 weeks. So I'm below the line on my growth chart, but baby's growth is following the line, so MW seems happy enough.
My MW was off, so I had a stand in. She wasn't as friendly as my usual one, but I did feel that I got more information out of her. WHen I said that I didn't want an epidural she suggested I look in to a water birth to see if that would help with the pain. TBH it's not something I've really thought about, so if anyone knows where I can go on line to get good info, it'd be much appreciated.
Hope everyone's having a nice day

Teenie can I ask what happened to you when you don't want to be induced early? I ask because due to my DD2's birthweight I was hoping to persuade them to induce me early (if its not too large at 36 week growth scan) rather than leave me till 39 weeks and then have to have a c-section. I feel that I would rather have an early delivery of a 'normal' size baby rather than a c-section, although I do know that there is more risk of intervention being required after induction.
I live in Inverness, although originally am from the fastest town in the east - half way between Elgin and Inverness- if you need a weather update tomorrow feel free to PM me.
Aw thanks that would be great I might do that.
I was induced on my due date with DD and I eventually had her a week later.
Lots of women have NO problems whatsoever and I know that Grateful (I think) prefers to be induced, but personally I found the whole thing really traumatic. Every time they gave me the gel I was getting 'false' contractions but I wasn't even dilating. When they gave me the pessary 3 days later I was told "this is like rocket fuel you will have your baby by the end of the day" but I still didn't dilate. All the while women were coming in having there babies and going home again.
On the Thursday when they examined me again I still hadn't moved and this is when I burst in to tears and said no more. Consultant came, told me to go home come back on the Saturday try again and if nothing a section on the Sunday. After 2 more lots of gel and a sweep eventually things started moving and they moved pretty fast. The contractions were constant to begin with and I just didn't get a break between them but when "proper" labour started, I was absolutely fine, I coped on G & A and had DD about 5 hours later.
Speaking to my midwife this time about my fear of being induced again, she said that she would recommend that no woman is induced with their first baby (obviously unless absolutely necessary) but I have fab consultant this time and he is with me all the way
Sorry I didn't mean to make that an essaylike I said this is purely personal for me, I know of lots of friends who have been induced and they have there babies the same day.

LOL when I was pregnant with DD towards the end I was forever running back and forward to the loo and it was literally just a dribble, I did say to DH that I was going to buy some incontinence pants and use them....I have to say I was only half joking!
Just remembered my dream last night, I had a baby girl and she was 15lb :eek:
I said exactly the same thing yesterday. And I was up 5 times in the night. It's getting a bit much now, I can literally go, stand up to walk away and need to go again
On the subject of incontinence pants, a friend suggested using these instead of maternity pads for the first few days because of the amount of blood and the fact that the pads just wouldn't stay still - however I know that it's not advised to use the sanitary towels that absorb everything because they can hide what's happening, would that be the same with Tena pants? My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I'm really stressing about what I'll be dressing baby in. Am I right in thinking that for staying in the house baby can stay in sleepsuits with a blanket but then when going out will need a cardigan or fleece suit? Doesn't a cardi over a slwwpsuit look silly? What about his little legs?
Things would be easier if we weren't Team Yellow.
I've been looking for a coming home outfit but as we don't know the sex I'm stressing. I know it is all upto me as to how I dress my baby but I honestly have no idea. I'm clueless about clothing. I'm just buying things randomly.
For a nice coming home outfit I was just thinking of getting a cute sleepsuit and putting baby in a fleece suit for warmth for journey home. I'm not keen on pretty dresses and dungarees on newborns. I saw full on dress, tights, jeans, tracksuits outfits for newborns yesterday and wasn't keen on any of them. Any advice truly welcome.digitalphase wrote: »I don't know whether to buy a snow suit/pram suit as May can be so variable weather wise. Sammy - The difference between the car seats is the base really. You can use the family fix base for the pebble (group 0+) and with the next size seat the pearl (group1). With the cabrio base (easy fix) it fits only the first sized seat cabrio fix (group 0 +),. A group 1 car seat doesn't need to have a base in the car as you don't use that seat for the travel system. I am not planning taking the second size seat out and in of the car, just the baby so i don’t need a base. Also i am planning having two fairly close so would have to buy another base if i got the pebble/pearl combo if i needed it for the first seat again.

wow - thanks for all the clthing advice ladies. All the dresses, jeans etc just seemed too much bother, I'm thinking sleepsuits all the way. I've not bought loads but I know I already have what I'll need and I've still got the gifts and ever doting nanna collection to come.
So I'm thinking coming home outfit of
Short sleeve bodysuit x 2 (incase of sicky)
Sleepsuit x 2 (incase of sicky)
Pram suit - to put on as we are leaving (maybe this one with my giftcard? http://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-velour-pramsuit/s0007364/type-s/)

Do I need a hat too as this has a hood?
I may be april but I am 1st April and bubs maybe early so maybe a bit cooler. Is this excessive?
I am reposting my earlier post as it may have been missed amongst the congrats0 -
Thanks for the congrats everyone
Yes the birth went brilliantly thanks! Had a home birth and I can't put into words how amazing an experience it was :j
Already looking forward to baby #3 :eek:0 -
That all sounds good dusty. Is that just for coming home?
The pram suit looks lovely, April can be cool so I'm sure it would be just right. You don't want anything too padded.
I'd def go with a hat too though.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
