Can anyone offer some advice on baby baths? I've heard many people just use their sink, but ours isn't suitable, wrong shape, awkwardly placed taps. None of the ones I've looked at seem very practical. The baby supports look good but who wants to fill a whole bath for a tiny baby and it must be back-breaking all that bending over the bath. Most of the others look like big plastic tubs with no support so you're trying to hold the baby with one hand and wash with the other. The only one that seems like a suitable set up is the Mamas & Papas two stage ergo because it has built in supports for a newborn and older baby. What is everyone else doing please?
I was given a Boots baby bath that I used for the first 6-8 weeks then DD went in the big bath with DH, me or both of us, she still does. I'm trying to imagine all 4 of us in next year:eek: it is a big bath but still:rotfl:AKA: PC

I used/will use the Angelcare bath seat and a Tummy Tub, not together obviously.

If OH didn't bath I'd probably use a washing up bowl and bath sponge for support, but only because I'm too tight to spend money on a proper baby bath and space would be an issue storing it.
@CL :j congratulations
Girls, you aren't very good at being detective. It's fairly obvious from the list who has had a baby today.
@emsy - good to hear from you. Sorry about your ex. (hugs)
@Teeny - sorry can't help with the SMP.
@sharkey - just keep nagging. Surely they can fill the MAT1B form for you and leave it at reception for you to pick up?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
What is the Angelcare one? I've googled it but can't find it.

Congrats CL, love the name, very pretty.
Sorry, cant remember who posted re prem baby clothes. My DD was born 4lb9oz and was only in the next tiny baby for 3 weeks such a waste of money. Tesco do a range, may be called early baby which is up to about 7.5lbs. COuld you buy a few but ask for gift receipt and take back if baby comes out bigger than you expect?
So must be Tinkwings who's had a baby then right??!!

Congrats CL!!!! Also can't wait to see a pic!
Make-it-3 - I'd also like to know about the bath issue. Was wondering if our sink would be ok - flat and rectangular with a quite out-of-the-way high tap. I was also thinking about showering with baby in hand - have seen this and wondered if you can do it straight away.
Which for some reason reminds me of a really cute film I saw:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Babies-DVD-Region-US-NTSC/dp/B002ZG974M/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1290719807&sr=1-1
when a friend gave it to us, I thought it looked like the cheeziest thing I ever saw, but it's actually really cute and perfect for whiling away an hour or so.
Anyway....now for today's drama..(TMI alert)
Last night I had some quite painful cramps and this morning felt a bit under the weather, but ate breakfast as normal. Had a bit of diarrhea, but still mostly OK, so went for a driving lesson. Had to get him to stop near the end so I could drink something as was feeling a bit rough and losing concentration. Then felt ok and went to meet a friend I hadn't seen for ages for lunch, but began to feel really quite bad. Managed to hold it together, all the way to the station to see him off......
but by then it was all too much and I just suddenly had to throw up
and this was right in the middle of the busiest station in Holland....:o:o:o
(and went everywhere:o:o:o as it was mostly juice and tea - I'd only managed a few bites of lunch and had given it to my friend to polish off)
One nice guy asked if I was ok, also some policewomen. But then everyone else looked at me like I was some kind of wino  (bump hidden under winter coat)
Anyway, managed to get home and call midwife who said not to worry, stomach bugs or eating something dodgy won't harm the baby, but to keep drinking.....
So now I thought I was feeling better, had managed to drink something, but just chucked again (followed by horrible dry retching, sorry TMI!!), which has woken up Mr Wriggly who is now poking my stomach from below!!:(
Sorry for the whinge, OH is nearly home from working late to give me some tlc!0
