    How exciting CL!

I think I will report the MW, yes.

Just wanted to say, ladies who are off on leave next year and are being paid for the bank holidays - make sure your payroll department know you're now entitled to be paid for the extra one on April 29th. I've just sent this email:

I just wanted to check whether my bank holiday entitlement would increase to 9 days during my maternity leave now that the 29th April is a Bank Holiday?

    I believe my entitlement is:

    1. Good Friday April 22nd
    2. Easter Monday April 25th
    3. Royal Wedding Bank Holiday April 29th
    4. Early May Bank Holiday May 2nd
    5. Spring Bank Holiday May 30th
    6. Summer Bank Holiday August 29th
    7. Boxing Day December 26th
    8. Christmas Day holiday December 27th
    9. New Year's Day 2012 January 2nd

If this is correct, please could I have a new copy of my maternity letter with the increased holiday pay detailed?

    Definitely worth pointing out :)

@sarahangel - could you try having 6 small meals a day? Otherwise I'd go with the advice given for the first trimester sickness and just eat what you fancy as it's better than nothing and try and keep your fluids up.

@CL - how many days late are you? Hope things are progressing.

@lilian - sorry the antenatal class was pants. I feel quite lucky having them during the day now, at least if they overrun I just miss work. Maybe a breastfeeding class would be more beneficial when the baby is born and they can see the baby latching on.

I don't think I'm getting bank hols. But I have confirmed with them that I get my holiday. I go back 3rd January 2012, so I'm considering asking to have 11 weeks @ 3 days a week. I think this sounds like a great plan. And at the moment the pros are stacking up for returning to work (and having baby number 2) then rethinking my career later. I know I've been saying I want to leave but I can't help but think that going back is the sensible thing to do financially and for my family. Especially as I'd like another child quite soon.

CL, good luck with the section, not long til those fabby little cuddles!!!

Been to midwife and measureing a little small which is fine as it ties in with my dates rather than the scan dates.
She also said the baby's heartbeat sounded like a train so she thinks boy which is funny as I think girl. I guess one of us is right!!! lol

I was hoping to go south to Glasgow/Edinburgh this weekend for 4D scan and to check out prams, cots etc but DH is having to work both Sat and Sun so thats out then. Boo Hiss.
I did also want to spend a couple of nights in Devonshire gardens too (we spend two nights there after we married) but I guess that's out now too. Grrr.
    Ho hum.

Good luck CL - enjoy your cuddles.
  • Morning/Afternoon all!

Good luck to those in labour! Lovely mummy cuddles coming your way! Not long... hang on in there :)

Had midwife appointment this morning. Baby's heartbeat was found straight away. Baby also kicked the midwife! :D

Might have some protein in my water. Am awaiting my results and also she took a shed load of bloods and am awaiting the results of those. Another bloody 2WW!!!

Anyhoo apart from that.. just plodding along. Feel crappy and dizzy after having so much blood taken so i'm guzzling the lucozade down! Also - for the first time in this pregnancy my bloody pressure was normal! Woot!

Anyhow... back to work. Haven't done much. Bit of Christmas Shopping and a few telecons!

Aw CL so sorry you bubs is being naughty, but I know by this point you just want the baby out no matter what way they do it. At least you know that by this evening you will be cuddling your little bundle. xxx

Purple good luck, hope things have started for you.

Wonder if tinks has had her wee girl yet?

Nic good luck, not long to go now hun x

lillian that is terrible about your classes! I really enjoyed mine the first time round and am looking forward to going back to them again. Might not learn anything new but it's just a refresher and it's nice to meet other ladies who are due the same time as you.

For the ladies feeling carp again in third trimester, the only thing I can suggest is eating really small portions and often. You need to keep your fluids up obviously but don't drink too much at once. Even just now at nearly 19 weeks I can't have too many liquids or it just comes back up!

Well I have been a bit panicky the past couple of days and ready to phone midwife, as bubs just has not been moving, then last night he/she didn't stop. I was so relieved and couldn't stop smiling. Got a good couple of movements today as well so very reassured.

I am taking a day off tomorrow so am looking forward to a nice few days off. it's my Mums 70th birthday on Saturday so all the family are going out for a meal which I'm really looking forward to, it will be the first time I have been 'out' since before I got pregnant.

Morning, I was checking on my phone and the message didn't come up!! Silly modern technology!!!
    Nice to meet you!!! :D

No problem :) I went to bed early last night as wasn't feeling too great so missed that you'd accepted me :p

Good luck to CL, Purple and Tinks I really hope that today is the day for you CL you must be getting rather fed up now. It sounds as if Purple is on her way already :)

For those who are past me in weeks (i.e over 24) My bump feels really heavy at the bottom like there is a brick in it or something and I keep getting these really strong stabby cramps in the lower part of my bump. I notice that they are especially bad in the night time when I've got up to go for a wee and am getting back into bed.

Did anyone have anything similar? I'm assuming they may just be growing / stretching pains but just wanted to check.
