Hello again... It's been a long time and today I finally recieved my £2 credit report... I'm confused though. The booklet which explains my credit report talks about CIFAS, but my credit report actually has no CIFAS records on it.
It doesn't say CIFAS then none.
It doesn't show even any CIFAS information within the report. It shows;
Application Details,
Electoral roll information,
Financial associations,
Credit account information,
Previous searches,
Financial associate searches,
Linked addresses,
Useful addresses.
Nothing else in terms of CIFAS.
Help?
Thanks!0 -
Sorry I just want to stop this speculation dead in the water.
OP has just turned 18 and therefore has no credit history whatsoever. Full current accounts come with the option of an overdraft and cheque guarantee facility - i.e. credit.
It is absolutely normal and nothing for OP to worry about for a bank to turn him down for a full current account if he's got no credit history and not banked with them before.
OP; I would suggest you open a basic account - or better yet, an under-19 account like this one:
http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/under_19s_account.asp
They would fully expect you to have no credit history.
If you go to apply in branch, be VERY forceful about making sure they put through an app for an under-19 account and NOT a Full current account. Re-iterate and don't take any !!!! from them otherwise they'll try to put through an app for a full current account which you may again fail the credit check on.
Good luck with getting the under-19 account, I'm sure you'll be fine. Let us know how you get onCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
