Not true, cyclists do get pulled over by police for breaches of the highway code. But much like cars getting pulled over for this it doesn't happen often enough. I'd be quite happy to see more traffic police picking people up for overtaking too close, having vehicles on pavements (including pavement parking), not following rules at junctions. Might not have the disproportionate effect on cyclists you're hoping for though.

Bad driving is bad driving, and can be penalised.
Still can't get a cyclist 12 months ban for dangerous cycling though, even if a pedestrian dies as a result,... or put points on his licence.
Carefree ignoring of the rules of the road, and the law.

Neither the ignoring the rules of the road, or breaking the law is the problem though.....it's their UNEXPECTED behaviour. Like mentioned earlier.....One minute they are a cyclist going down the road, then a sharp right turn across a pedestrian crossing as a pedestrian, then after a little cycling on the pavement, launching themselves into the road as a cyclist again.
How can ANYONE anticipate cyclists behaviour?
It's a wonder they are not plastered across windscreens like greenfly.

    As discplayer said:-
There are lunatics using all forms of transport, but you can't let the OP launch an attack on motorists without a challenge.
The point is, we have NO control over the lunatics on bicycles. They can do anything they damn well like, and they can still be back on the road tomorrow.

birkee, not sure if you should watch this as you might spontaneously combust with rage.
It is these kind of cyclists that show 2 fingers to the authorities that perpetuate the venom of hate that law abiding cyclists receive every day!

Cyclists should give way when coming out of a side street and not just ride out.

And what if there isn't room for mollycoddling them?
Barely, or sometimes never with bad parkers, room to get cars through, let alone cycle lanes too.
Notice also, they want taxpayers input without their input.

I know....YOU pay your taxes, but you don't pay EXTRA like motorists.

Doesn't it p*ss you off though, when they charge you tax on something, and then they charge you VAT on the tax!

What !!!!es me off is inheritance tax, but I won't go too much into it, as that is for another discussion board.

My pet hate is when cyclists ride up the inside when cars are stopped at the traffic lights...!! Grrr..!!! Then after they've done that have the audacity to think you shouldn't be turning left there! The highway code says "Do not ride on the inside of vehicles signalling or slowing down to turn left" but they do it anyway! Winds me up no end - they can take their death wish somewhere else!

Oooh, I'm getting road rage just thinking about it! :)

which part are you struggling with?
    I run 2 cars
I pay plenty of tax for those cars
    I also run a bike
you dont pay extra, you pay the tax due on you to run a car
    the caps are superfluous
