Need help choosing new phone (upgrade).

Thanks again for your input.
This is why its so hard to choose out of the three.
The N8 has good call quality, sound quality (well xpress music was good), and a decent camera. Those things are all important to me. I've also heard that there will be free os upgrades, which is something to factor.
I just wish it had a faster processor, and a better web browser.
Out of the other 2, the Galaxy S would be great because of its sound quality. I just wish it had a flash. The HTC desire would be good, if the sound quality was up to par.
I'm going to have a look tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.0 -
Thanks everyone for your advice.
Unfortunately I got a sudden inexplicable tourettes type thing, and said I want an N8 as soon as I went in the store. :rotfl: I think going though my posts; that was where I wanted to go.
It's os may be ancient compared to others, but (after searching the web) I'm confident that upgrades, when available will sort out minor niggles. Also the camera, call quality, battery life, and music sound was all-important to me.
I managed to get mine for £25 a month for 2 years. I asked to reduce the minutes and paid a fee of £30 to get this deal. Otherwise it would have been £35.
For £25 a month I get unlimited calls to landlines (this will save approx £7 on my current anytime landline calls with virgin media), 600 mins of other standard type calls, unlimited internet, and unlimited texts. I also got a free PAYG phone thrown in, with £10 credit pre-loaded. I will give this to my DD as an extra christmas present, and keep my old as a spare.
Very happy! :j
Thanks again to all you lovely people who helped me with my decision. :T0 -
thats good! i assuming its through chitter chatter?0

I'd recommend the Desire. It is an absolutely spectacular phone, and coming from a Symbian handset, you will be amazed by just how good modern smartphone operating systems can be.
I've had mine for a few months now, and I have no regrets about laying down the money - I'd have easily taken a Desire over an iPhone 4 if they were offered at the same price.
EDIT: I just noticed your final post (gotta remember to read both pages before commenting) so I withdraw my recommendation. The N8 is a very, very nice phone - Nokia's hardware is, for the most part, second to none.0 -
Thats what won it for me. The hardware. I don't carry my digital camera out on a daily basis, so lately its become defunct.
I love playing music on my Xpress, and the HTC desire looked so covetable (it really does look fantastic), but its no good to me if the music/camera quality is sub-par. Also looks a bit big to carry around in my bag/pocket.
The N8's call quality is excellent, which is something I've always found great with Nokia's. The battery life seems fine so far. The Samsung Galaxy S was out of the running, when I learned it had no flash.
Ultimately it comes down to what you want in a mobile phone.
I'm pleased with T-mobiles service, as they've always seemed to deliver (in-store). :T0 -
Still loving it. :j
I'm boring everyone to tears; "Did you ring me up just to talk about your phone?" :rotfl:(yes,
