Hi IA, Don't let things get you down. Ashli will not know even less mind if you postpone the safari visit till another date.

When you do go I was also going to suggest clubcard deals if you have any or ask on the days out board if anyone knows of any vouchers that will admit you any cheaper.

lol... I did 2 years at college and got hacked off with being told what to do which is why I didn't go to uni... but what did I do? got a job where I was hacked off with being told what to do! lol!

Got roped into giving my mate a lift (broken car) to collect his kids from a party (snotty-kid and whingy-kid as we call them), it was run by this lot:
    http://www.artycrafts.co.uk/
    http://www.artycrafts.co.uk/children's_birthday_parties.htm
    (Yes a tenner a head!)
Licence to print money, get a load of parents obsessed with giving their kids a decent party, £10 a head to stick glitter and tat on stuff and some cheap pop and crisps... bingo instant money spiner.... lots of parents with more money than sense out their who can't be bothered to run their own party...

Oh look a business someone who's done something artist at college could do, especially if they have childcare qualifications and like kids... can't think of anyone qualified to earn a bit on the side like that - can anyone?

If it's any help, the only memory I have between 2 and 3 is of peeing myself in the local church hall playgroup and feeling ashamed - so however much you spend I bet Ashli won't remember - hey you could just photoshop her in front of the safari park brochure and tell she went in a few years like a real DFW

Sorry I-A for jumping in but I just had to say 'Barnaby the Bear' was a kids programme in the 70s of which I have fond memories and it came back to me when I saw Barnaby's username. Lenny

I very relieved to say that I finally got paid today. What a stress.. I hope to god we don't have the same trouble next month. Going to do the food shop tonight and put petrol in the car.

I hate struggling for money, I really do. My boss really doesn't understand how hard it is to be completely reliant on your wages going in on the day you expect them.

The girls are both fine. After weeks of half smiles and is it/isn't it smiles from Kaitlyn, this morning both Ste and I got great big beaming smiles off her for the first time. All ste had to do was pick her up and he got huge smiles whereas I had to act like an utter t*t sinking the 'funky monkey' song off cbeebies to get any kind of reaction but I got 2 big smiles in the end!!!!! Makes all the lack of sleep so worth it even if we are exhausted but she's now getting into a recognisable(ish) routine where she'll feed at 7.30, 10, 1, 4, 6, 8, 11.30, 3.30/4, 7.30. Means she's only getting up once in the night and only one of us has to get up. Don't get me wrong we're still knackered but it's better than her feeding every 2 hours and us both having to get up at crazy hours of the night.

Anyway, today is a better day (so far) than yesterday. We know where we stand money wise and there'sno more uncertainty about will I/won't I get paid. Going to go round the cupboards etc and figure out exactly what we need.

8 days til Ashli's birthday!!! eeek!

    hello IA,

Really pleased you got paid :T . Do you meal plan? We had some friends move to Spain few years ago and I pretend I'm them trying to use up my food cupboard before I leave the country (:o , it works for me:D ) and see what I need to buy to make meals out of what I already have in. There's a thread on o'style called the storecupboard challenge, which is all about using stuff up. There's also another one called the February use it up challenge which means you are not allowed to buy or open full containers of anything until you've used up bits left over first. eg I've come across a load of small bubble baths and shampoos from DH travels so until these have gone I 'can't buy any more.

Do you ever send off for the freebies? Many a time I've been able to put off having to go out shopping by another day or so because I could eek out washing powder or DW tablets from the samples I get. There's also baby related freebies too which all helps. I've had weaning spoons and dummies free also.
