  • The strangest things have just happened! Have accidentally switched our gas and electric supplier to severn trent (who supply our water..)! Called up for a quote and before I knew it she was thanking me for choosing severn trent and I should recieve our confirmation pack in the next 7 days!! whoops! We'll save about £7.50 a month but apparently we have 7 days to change our minds after recieving the confirmation pack so we're not completely tied in. I'm such an idiot! lol!

The second thing is it look like my dad (Who I haven't spoken to since mum died in 05 because he's an alcoholic and a t**t) has been round as there was a letter pushed through our door from his address (I haven't lived there for 4 1/2 yrs!). It was a barclays statement for a current account I didn't even know I had which apparently has £3.18 in there! I used to have a barclayplus account so they must've upgraded it and my dad hasn't been passing the letters on (I thought I'd closed the account!). Going to go in on tuesday probably and get the details changed over and get my money (All £3.18 of it! lol! Not bad for nothing though! Was a big gutted when it wasn't 1,000's though but then again I wasn't exactly a well off child. lol.).

I'm really angry that a)my dad knows our address b)That he's been round c) been within feet of my girls
Don't get me wrong.. I'm not a b***h... TBH I feel sick even calling him dad as he ruined my childhood and made my mum's life hell right up to the day she died. I hate him and would be happy if I never spoke to/saw him again.

You don't sound like a b*tch don't worry - it's understandable to feel like that, I think I would too. Hopefully it will just be a one-off and he will stay clear in future.

I finish work on the 14th April officially, when I'll be 36 weeks, but I've booked easter fortnight off (as holiday) so my last day is 30th March. I'm looking forward to it, but I'll probably be bored too. Although we have quite a bit of decorating to do, so I'm sure I'll be kept busy.

  • I am SOOOOO excited. My favourite band are playing on the 27 April at our local venue... The past 2 times they're played near us I've either been heavily pregnant or skint but this time Steve took the decision out of my hand and bought tickets for us to go last night! Means we've sacrificed £36 of the debt fund but we've got enough to pay citi and put a good £170 towards dorothy perkins and still be able to go.... WOOHOO I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Last night was a bit of a funny one. I went to bed leaving Steve to give K her last bottle which was due anytime. At 3.30am they came to bed as K had slept the whole time andnot woken for a bottle! Poor Steve was knackered and by rights he should've just come to bed or woken her up but he was playing his xbox so didn't notice the time. Poor bloke is knackered so is having a long lie in this morning. K woke at 6am fo another bottle which I got up with her for and then she slept til 9! Ashli woke up around 8.30 so I got up with her at 9 when she got bored of being in bed and left Steve in bed so recover from last night. This afternoon MIL is coming round to look after the girls for a couple hours while we nip out to town to get Ste measured for his best man's suit and maybe go for a little meal somewhere so we can spend some time together without having to worry about bottles/nappies/crying... :) Can't wait! Poor MIL is going to have her hands full though! LOL

Oooh, which band are you going to see?? I think you deserve a treat after all the effort you have put into repaying your debts!

Hope you have a nice meal, and don't worry, I'm sure your MIL will manage fine!

As for the baby, I can't wait! But I'm starting to get a bit nervous about the birth now it doesn't seem so far away. :o I keep wondering whether to hire a TENS machine, but I'll probably end up being induced again, so there might not be much point, they only seem to work if you start using them in early labour, and last time I didn't get an 'early labour' stage - went straight from no contractions at all, to contracting every 90 seconds...ouch!

  • Recieved Kaitlyn's child trust fund voucher today so need to find an account to put it in. Was planning on finding an account that give free mothercare vouchers or something and then switching to a higher interest account once we'd satified the conditions of the freebie. Just have to find one now! the best interest rate one I can find is the britannia CTF which has 6.75% for 2 yrs apparently if you sign up before 7th April so have a while to research and will probably move Ashli's to the same place as not sure what the interest on Ashli's is but I doubt it's 6.75.

Looking forward to tomorrow! Why? Because the paypal money should go in, as well as the child benefit and probably the moneybookers money too! Meaning that tomorrow the debt fund could jump from £186.30 to £554.53 in one day and we can pay off citi tomorrow! So excited! I love the feeling you get just before you pay debts off.. it's like waiting for christmas! You get all buzzy and excited.... never would've thought I'd ever say that about paying people hundreds of pounds with nothing to show for it though! lol!

Once that's paid of it'll take our total number of debts paid off up to 6.... and in total amount paid off to £2270.42 in just 4 months.. I would've never imagine we'd could ever pay off that much in such a short space of time. I'm so proud of all we've achieved, especially with being heavily pregnant and then having a baby! I really must stop being so hard on myself, we're on a low income with 2 children and have still managed to wipe out nearly 1/2 of our unsecured debt in the space of a few months!!

Kaitlyn is 4 weeks old today. At the risk of sounding like someone off Me Too! (If you have kids you'll know what I'm on about) where did the time go? She's so much bigger now and has really filled out. She has about 5 chins! lol! She feeds every 2 hours and still sleeps most of the time but does have little wakey times here and there. At night she does well and generally goes 3/4 hrs between feeds unless she's really hungry. She's also getting good at settling herself off to sleep by herself so we don't have to continuously rock her to sleep. She cries a lot more than Ashli did but we can forgive her for that. :)

Anyway, I'll stop yabbering on.. will update tomorrow on whether the money cleared and whether we've be able to pay citi or not!

It's great to hear you sounding so much happier, you're doing brilliantly!

Enjoy Cradle of Filth, I've never seen them but I know they've played Ozfest and I've been told they were fantastic live, hope you have fun!

I know exactly how you feel! I'm sharing your excitement!! I haven't paid off a debt completely for some time now because we are down to the BIG ones - 3 cc's with £5K, £5K, £2.1K, loan £1.2K and a 0% loan that we owe £800 which will be last to go. I know we are paying off big chunks but they seem to be going down sooooo slowly. So I'm watching your payments go down and cheering you and Ste on like mad!!:T

  • Handed in a application form yesterday for a job at a friend of mine's nursery. This nursery is in need of a full time nursery assistant and has the childcare places to be able to take both the girls for the hours I need. Not sure of the wage but I know it'd be at least £5.25 p/h so nearly 11k a year for 40hrs a week. Not sure exactly how much the childcare would be but I'd get staff discount and would get help from tax credits (I did a rough estimate on entitledto.co.uk based on childcare costs of £240 a week and apparently we'd get £239 a week in WTC/CTC inc childcare.).

The extra wage would come in really handy and help us out massively, especially as the tax credits would help with the childcare costs... but the trouble is K will only be about 4 1/2 months old when my maternity leave ends and it'd be a full time childcare place..
Ashli was in nursery from the same age and benefitted from it massively but she was only in 4 afternoons a week.

I know going to nursery will benefit them but it's just the amount of hours our K would be doing that concerns me... but we need the money...

Apparently my friend says they want to get me in for an interview and will more than likely call me tomorrow.... I guess we'll see what happens!
