I agree IA, if they were going to refuse you on the grounds of pnd, why ask your doctor for further information? They'd just say thanks but no thanks.

They've got to do those sort of checks to make sure your depression is well controlled and wont be aggravated by looking after lots of children - it's important for your sake as will as the childrens. But from the sound of it, your doctor is happy that you understand the condition you have and are responding to treatment, so they should be happy with that.

I hope you hear something soon, so you can stop worrying.

I agree, I would be more worried if they hadn't checked. At least this way you know that your application is progressing and that they are seriously considering your registration. You know that your PND is under control and you also know that you are more than capable of looking after children. You were employed in a nursery, have 2 thriving children and most importantly, recognised you had a problem and dealt with it. Your GP will confirm all of that, so try to stop worrying.

I'd personally try putting 1 side back on the cot. It makes no difference in the mum and dad is boss thing, it might make ash feel more secure though which is all you want.

  • Hi IA
hope you're in for a better night tonight - I remember sleep deprivation sooo well. Hope you don't mind me throwing in my tupenneth - but noticed on the lovely picture of Ash in her "big" bed that its in the middle of the room - just a thought but could you maybe rearrange the room and have it next to the wall may make her feel a little more secure and cosy. Must admit that I succumbed with ds2, ds3 and dd and they used to come in our bed (not all at once - lol) but put our foot down with dd last year and used a sticker chart - worked a treat! Life without sleep is no fun!! Take care.

Thanks guys. Feeling better about it today. I know they're just being thorough so hopefully I'll heat something soon. :)

The girls were brilliant last night. Ash went to bed at 7.30, and didn't cry or get out of bed ONCE. She got up at 8.30 this morning, got out of bed and just started playing with her toys. Clever girl, keep it up!!
K di her usual waking up a few times but went from 12.30 til 7 without a bottle :) Good girl!

Oh and I'm now the proud owner of a bass.... :D Not the one I bought.. th eone off freecycle! It need some TLC so I'm going to have it as my little 'project' and do it up and then either keep it or sell it on. lol..... Can't wait for pinky to turn up though!! :D

Hey, good stuff IA. The universe knows when to cut you a break, thats nice. Hope you feel better after a bit more sleep too. I'm finding sleep difficult at the mo, not because of kids - I have arthritis in my left shoulder (aargh! I'm old) can't sleep on my left side any more, and now my left side is hurting when I sleep on my *right* side! And my back hurts when I sleep on my back. I may have to get one of those wedges...

Morning IA - glad you got some decent sleep last night! Your girls are great, they must have known Mummy was tired!

I'm sure everything will be fine with Ofstead, as was said before, if ur PND was gonna be an issue, I'm sure they wouldn't have asked the doc for more information.

I love the idea of doing up the 'freecycle' bass... if you decide to sell it afterwards, there will be someone sat at home eagerly waiting for it, in the same was you're waiting for Pinky!! I'm so gald you decided to buy it, you really do deserve the treat!

Perhaps you could do a Bass restoration diary on here, how to restore it in a DFW way, and give us before, during and after pics...?

    Have a good day

You've gone from no basses (is that the plural of bass ) to two in the space of about a week lol! Good idea to do it up though, and then you can sell it on if you need to, or keep it if you don't.

By the way, I ended up reading your pregnancy diary on babyworld the other day (found it by accident), it's fab - Steve's post at the end actually made me cry, bless him, he writes almost as well as you do! I loved the 'Steve, 40 (beers) + 3 (vodkas)' bit, it made me laugh my head off.

Make sure you do 'before' and 'after' shots of the bass if you are going to do it up!

Edit - oh, someone has already suggested that!

Well in that case, when you get pinky, I think you should treat us to a Youtube video of you playing it :D

    Hi IA

Glad you are feeling better today

Great idea about the bass imho - it's good to have a project to work on I think. Should make you feel better.
