Hi Sar
Can I just say I'm really sorry your feeling down. I think the reason for this is due to your maternity pay coming to an end, your birthday tomorrow and being skint so your not able to go out and celebrate. We will all celebrate here with you :j
Thing is honey that you guys have done so well and if you really think about it, what if you hadn't done what you did? you would be in such a pickle and possibly never have the chance to get to the position your in now. :T
Looking at your SOA at least you CAN AFFORD all your min payments and still save some to get them gone early, or have savings incase something goes wrong.
OK so it will be a little slower now, but my god girl you are b!@@dy amazing, total respect to you and your fab family. I think that everyone that has got to know you on here feels very enlightened by you and your attitude (even through PND) :A
YOU have really helped SO MANY of us through the BAD times just by reading YOUR DIARY and seeing how you have coped with Everything that has been Thrown your way AND with a SMILE on your face. :cheesy:
SO WHAT if it is a little slower for now, you will soon be childminding and getting the extra pennies in to get it all done as fast as you want to.0 -
You know I think the part about my birthday is probably true. I've been really down today and I keep having this nagging voice in the back of my head saying you're birthdays never come to anything and it'll be a bottle of cheap wine in front of eastenders like every year. I missed my 21st because I was doing the race for life and was knackered after it but this time it's just because we're skint. It's annoying though because whenever Ste has a birthday I always try to do something special for him or at least have a party but I don't get the same back. I know I should be grateful but I can't help just feeling miserable. I look forward to my birthday and then it ends up being nothing....
I was expecting to feel like this at 42 not 22!

OH IA
I can relate to the whole birthday thing - I have trie dint he past with OH's bdays but never get anything back - he doesn't even bother to come out with me now and it's usually only one friend and me as it's day after dd's and a few after christmas - not good really.
However, I also think you need to tell him this - men can be a little slow on the uptake and if you said tonight - look, I want a big (cheap) deal made tomorrow night and you have all tonight and tomrrow to come up with something. Surely he can rack his brains to think of something nice and make the day a bit more special?

How do you get your b'day to fall on a 'tenders day EVERY year :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Only jesting sweetie - you keep your chin up, you should be proud of all that you have achieved in your YOUNG (am I jealous!!) 22 years - its a bl00dy lot
You might only be in front of the telly with some cheap plonk but you will be with those that you love and those that love you which in the grand scheme of things really does amount to a lot
Having said all that you are totally allowed to vent so vent away and I'm sending lots of HUGS.
I agree that maybe it will be best to put your debt-busting on hold until the childminding is up and running but you will do what is best for you
Take care and have a lovely day tomorrow

I know exactly how you feel. Every year I always make such an effort for Dear hubby, when it was his 30th I arranged a huge totally secret party and got in touch with his family and friends (even ones he hadn't seen for years) and god was he shocked..... Well my 30th came and he did absolutley NOTHING for mine. he did not even arrange for a few friends to come round for a cheep bottle of plonk! I seriously sulked for weeks after.
Every year we are always skint for my b'day as it's begining of Feb and by his in mid April we're usually on top of money again so i always make a big fuss of his.
Hopefully this year is the last it will be like that as we should be well and truly DEBT FREE by then, have had to adjust my sig  as had to give in and buy a new washing machine, It's so not fair0 -

Hon, if it's any consolation it's a man thing, not a Ste thing (apologies to those of you who prove the exception to the rule!).
I hope you have a much better day than you are hoping for, I'm celebrating it already!!!!
As others have said hon, you vent away. Bet we can make you smile, if not laugh!

HAPPPY BIRTHDAY!! Any chance you could accidentally on purpose leave this page open and tell Ste to have a read at what has been going on in your diary, perhaps then he will get the hint?!?
Although as others have said as long as you share your birthday with those you love and everyone is healthy then that is the main thing.
If I was you I would celebrate my birthday myself, look at all you have achieved by the age of 22, what I probably will never achieve in a life time.0 -
