Well the paypal dispute has gone to be assessed by the paypal people. No doubt they'll rule in the buyers favour as per usual but to be honest I'm just sick of thinking about it now. will nip to the post office tomorrow and pick up a claim form so I can at least get some money back.

Feeling a bit down today. It's my birthday tomorrow and it's literally going to be some cheap beer in front of the tv as usual as we can't afford anything else. My plans of a night out went out the window when we realised that we simply couldn't afford it and most of our friends would probably find some excuse not to come anyway. :( Why do I bother?

Am going to do a new SOA and see if there's anything that can be done. I doubt there is but there might be someone out there who can help. I'll post it on here when I'm done too.

*sigh* I hate days like this. Doesn't help I was up and down with K last night which is just typical seeing as Ste got up with her the past 2 nights and she pretty much slept through the night before last.

For future reference... newly updated SOA.
Well my maternity leave is officially over so now we're resigned to living off one way and our tax credits. It's a nightmare budgetwise as I'm so used to do everything monthly and now we're going to have to live week to week and right now I can't see how it's going to work... here's my SOA in case anyone has spotted anything that I can't...

    Income
Dh's wages - £850 basic ( he does normally get a bit of overtime BUT he has just been offered a new job which is apparently 14k a year so this will be going up to about £941 a month.)
Tax Credits - £108.62 every weds (So £434 for an average 4 weds month.)
    Child benefit - £120.80

    Total - £1404.80

    Household Bills
    Rent (Housing association) - £296.47
    Council Tax - £104
    Water bill - £17.18
    Gas and Electric - £65.50
    Tv Licence - £11.37
Car insurance full comp for me and DH (Who's just passed his test)- £33.78
Dh Mobile up for renewal in oct- £25 average
My contract mobile line rental can cancel in oct - £8 estimate
My pay and go mobile - £10 MAX
Phone broadband and line rental just switched to tiscali - £30ish
Food for 2 adults, a 2 yr old and a weaning baby both in nappies - £200
    Petrol - £50
Dh personal budget (Our personal budgets are for everything else inc hair cuts, treats, going out, etc- £140
    My personal budget - £20
    Car tax/mot - £30

    Total household outgoings - £1131.30

    Debt repayments
Welcome Car finance - 24.1% til Oct 2010 total when paid back inc interest about £7900 - £160.50 a month
Citi credit card - 27.9% Balance £850ish as just paid a lump off limit £1,500 - Min payment about £25 a month
    Barclaycard - 19.9% purchases, 16.9% balance transfers balance £807.12 limit £900 - £20 a month

total outgoings per month - £1246.80

    Leftover £158

As you can see things are tight but not drastically.. although my main problem is that our tax credits are weekly and apparently Dh's new job will be paid on the 20th the month instead of the last working day and the majority of our bills go out on the last working day of the month and the 1st....

We're not eligable for housing benefit or any other help but I'm in the process of becoming a childminder but not sure how long it'll be. We're also saving every spare penny to pay off debt but realistically can't see how we're going to manage week to week since we're so used to doing things monthly!

IA- A few years ago, my husband changed jobs and his payday changed from 24th to last working day of month. All our bills came out around 24th. I just contacted the companies and the bank and explained and our bills were changed to the 1st day of the month.

The only potential problem I see with you asking to do the same is with your council tax depending on your council as ours only allows DD on certain days of month. Luckily for us, the 1st was one of the options.

Personally I found a 'set' day a lot easier than the last working day which can change according to how many days are in the monthor if BH fall on it. The 20th will only ever change if it falls on a w/end or if Easter BHs ever fall on it.

Hi I_A sorry your feeling down. It was my birthday yesterdat and it was quite depressing - 40 is looming!

Have looked over your new SOA and to be honest there is nothing I can see to cut back on. You've still god £158 over each month when paying the minimum payments on everything so that's good going.

Yesterday a few of the guys here told you to take a break from your debt free challenge until the childmiding kicks in and I think that would be a good idea. You can always pay an extra £100 off one of the cards per month to bring the balance down - that would still be a great help.

Don't feel down about your situation you have done tremendously well and are an inspiration to so many people of here. Keep your chin up, everything will work out for you. Big hugs x

dont be hard on yourself. you are still in a great position here. so what if you have to make a few minimum payments in the interim. and when stev gets his payrise and you start childminding you wont be long in getting rid of the last of the debts.

I've posted in your other thread. would it not be easier to think of the tax credits as your weekly budget. if you add food, petrol, and steves money it is more or less the same as your tax credits.

I don't know if it would help out or not but you could request to have your child benefit paid weekly. I get mine paid every Tuesday and have done since my children were born, it really helps out with our week to week costs.

Remember even just paying the minimum payments for a couple of months you're still heading in the right direction. I'm sure your childminding business will be up and running in no time judging by how quickly things have gone so far.

How is your credit rating these days?
Have you checked it since you started debt busting?

You might be able to get a better interest rate than you're currently on now, especially since you don't need a huge limit.

That way even the amount you're giving Barclaycard and Citi goes down you still end up paying off more.
