What are you lot like!!!
IA can u plse help me out?
DS13 wants this Guitar Hero for Easter.
I dident realise that xbox version was so bl**dy expensive.
Can u plse tell me a wee bit about it?
Does it help you learn you learn to play the guitar?
Tnanks.
If it's any help Ste gets 30% discount at HMV so he could get it for you for just over £46 instead of the £65 it normally is and we could send it to you.
Basically you get a guitar controller and have to play along to songs using the coloured buttons on the 'fretboard'. There's loads of old and new songs on there and you can download new songs and things from the xbox live marketplace. It's really good and really really addictive. I suppose it could help you learn to recognise music patterns and things but wouldn't really help you learn a proper 6 string guitar though! lol!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

He feels like everyone's picking on him for spending money on his lunches etc at work when in reality he's cut his spending from around £10 a day on rubbish to £4 a day on just food. He thinks that he's the bad man because everyone on here seems to be judging him on that he spends about £4 a day. He works really hard and although he may not be on exactly the same wavelength of my obsessiveness he has had to make sacrifices too and is getting better. It was his idea to start the £2 fund and he's every bit as excited about paying debts off as I am it's just that he's rubbish with money by his own admittance so he's more than happy to let me control things and tell him what to do, so to speak.
Oh and please don't read this post wrong... I'm just saying what me and Ste talked about last night and this is in no way meant to say we're annoyed at anyone for whatever reason. I just wanted you to be able to hear from the man of the house as well as me! lol!
Barnaby you are right about Ste's job. He constantly gets his nose rubbed in it by people who spend stupid money on cds/dvds/games etc and it can't be nice for him especially when we have to save up or trade in his other games to be able to get what he wants!
Right I've rambled enough.. off to check the internet bank.
I don't think Ste is rubbish with money, I've worked in high tech in the past where the newest mobile phone, iPod, toy "mean something" only you only see the new gadgets, you don't see their credit card statements or remember that 50% of the workforce at HMV are probably taking their toys back to their childhood bedroom and living with mum and dad  If Ste was bad with money he would be spending along with the rest of them and he'd have bought the xbox without the trade in with no consultation.
I don't doubt you are the boss though and that ultimately the decision to buy the xbox came down to you to a large extent and that you regard yourselves as a team. It's also easier to justify spending for others - "but it's for the kids - innit" syndrome etc... and to feel that there aren't treats and to feel guilty if it's for "yourself". As you get older you get less bothered about comparisons, you realise that when you see the pampered preened dolly bird probably has a CC/overdraft crisis every month... and as your income goes up there'll always be the beckon of unnecessary expense, Ashli's lucky she's got a stay at home mum because you have both cut back so much, she'll also learn she doesn't have to spend £90 on her hair and respect money, so many young women have awful store card debts at 18-19 that mean no choices, stuck in rubbish jobs they don't like but have to plod on with to keep up with the store card all the while paying vast sums on being painted orange and bleached, waxed etc. Yes lots of families are richer financially but being careful you know Ashli won't miss out on the school trips or have to go out to work at 16 to help financially rocky mum and dad like so many kids have to and if Ashli picks up on being careful, she can go to college, get a career and make a life for herself.0 -
IA - regarding the cradle cap - if it makes you feel any better both my kids STILL have it and i'm trying everything to get rid of it!! (olive oil, special shampoo- don't use that I thought it make it worse!!, massage(a 20 month boy?!!), creams, etc) I have found the massage with oil helps a little and my dd loves me playing with her hair and regular 'scraping' with the brush helps!:rotfl:
You're doing wonderfully and sooooooooo much better than I was at the same stage with both kids (dd=not leaving house, denying any depression) & ds(no sleep, denying any depression). Also my dd had nits when ds was 2 months old AND HE GOT THEM AND I DIDN'T NOTICE!!!!!!Eeeek! So hope that makes you feel a little better

Ashli's not long gotten rid of hers and I've always been told that it doesn't hurt them and will disappear eventually. Felt horrible like I was being judged because my baby had cradle cap though!
Have yet to have the pleasure of dealing with nits.... I had them when I was about 12 and I remember taking much enjoyment in brushing my hair over a white sheet and then 'popping' the little blighters with the hard end of my brush.... whahahaha I'm so evil....Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Did you go looking for the shampoo with the offer of a free hair-do on it?0
-
My DS (now 13) had cradle cap for about 2 years. His hair was very very blond and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I know what you mean when you say you feel horrible about it. I always felt people were staring at it. Got quite paranoid!
I used olive oil but it was hit and miss, somedays it was better than others.0 -

How do you get pictures in the threads!!!!!
I found a great picture of me to show you all...
Bunny xEmpty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Have you got a photobucket account Bunny? I find the easiest way is to upload the photo to photobucket, which gives you a link that you copy & paste into your post. I'm not very good at explaining these things, sorry!
Immoral, sorry if Steve was offended by any of the posts, he sounds like a lovely guy. I completely understand the guilt you feel about asking him not to spend money he has worked for. But as others have said, you are at home bringing up his children, and that's just as important and worthwhile (if not more so) than his job - and you don't get paid for it either. But the effort you are putting into paying off your debts will have a huge impact on your household finances in the long run, and I think people just wanted you to realise how valuable you are to Steve & the kids.
PS Cradle cap is horrid, and so difficult to get rid of. Olive oil is pretty good at shifting it, but it does take some perseverance. God, I could scream at the health professionals who made you feel like a bad mother. Don't let them get to you, you are doing brilliantly."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
