Right have checked the internet bank. All being well we'll be able to pay off dotty p's on the 25th April. That means that because our next dotty p's bill isn't due til the 4th May that we'll actually not have to pay the min payment on it this month as we'll be paying it all off! so we're going to save an extra £19 this month! Wooohoo! Will come in handy because of the Cradle gig on the 26th! :D
Also checked the budget and everything's fine and bang on what I worked out at the start of April at the moment. This week we've only spent £28.80 so far with 3 days left in Week 1 so looks like we'll have saved a bit of money to go towards debt this week. Who knows we may be able to pay off Dotty p's earlier than the 25th!

Sorry IA - I didn't mean to get at Steve (it wasn't meant that way) so please pass on my apologies to him - its just that feel like you should have something too but I do appreciate that he has had to make cutbacks too. Its a long hard struggle and you are doing so well - I wish I had your determination. Of course, there is only you posting so we know how hard you work to get your debts down - which obviously wouldn't be possible if Steve was not working ;) so I think that you ought to allow yourself a little treat now and again and i am sure that steve would be of the same mind.

I agree, it must be hard for him with everybody at work buying things etc but he has a beautiful wife and two lovely daughters to come home to - not something everybody has and I know which I'd prefer though saying that my hubby is the same - he works hard all week and lots of overtime and gets mad when I say he can't afford to buy something (normally stupid) for his beloved car. he often says he goes to wok for nothing which obviously isn't the case but I can see where he is coming from - as with Steve - its just so hard when all you want is to become debt free and every once of engery and every penny goes into this. We'll all get there in the end though :T

As I said to him last night it's hard for people reading my diary to know our situation exactly looking from the outside in so to speak and anything anyone puts on here is based on what they'd do in our situation.
I'm eternally grateful to anyone who posts something in our diary as without all the support we probably would've fallen off the wagon ages ago!

  • Just a thought, you've said you can cut your own hair (v impressive, dread to think what I'd look like if I tried that ) - any chance of drafting in MIL to assist with dyeing the underside a different colour? I've never had any training with hair colouring or anything but I've dyed several people's hair for them (not many hairdressers in some of the random countries I've lived in) - you just have to have a lot of trust, but you sound like you get on well with her.

Also, don't you dare fall off the debt busting wagon! Otherwise we'd have to send Bunny round (probably closest dfw?) to sort you out, and I wouldn't mess with a Canadian, eh Bunny?

lol tumble. Do you think she'd be like that bunny from Donnie Darko?

In reality the extent to which I can cut my hair involves trimming about an inch off the end and making it look even! lol!

I love Ste so much! Apparently he's managed to get Guitar hero for the 360 today with his credit note!!! I've wanted that game since i heard it was coming out and he could've easily spent it on games he wanted but bought me guitar hero instead! Can't wait to play it tonight!

Feeling down this afternoon. Took K for her 8 week check (even though she's 9 weeks!) and although she's fine and perfectly I really felt like they were implying that I couldn't cope and wasn't doing well. They just kept asking if I was ok and if I was coping and saying how hard it is with a baby and how they wouldn't blame me for not dealing with it. :( The doctor also said that K's got bad cradle cap (Which I already knew) and just made me feel like I'd not been cleaning her or something daft. Then the doc examined her and my HV came in and said 'You know she's on anti depressants don't you' and he just said yes. I feel so stupid as I know they weren't saying I was a bad mother or anything but that's just how it felt. It feels like everyones looking at me and expecting me to fail at any minute and end up in a looney bin with my kids taken off me. :(

On a brighter note MIL has given me the £4 back for what I spent on those clothes as my easter present as she knows money's tight.. Bless her heart.

Feel really sorry for Ste as he's going to be coming home expecting me to be all excited about guitar hero but I'm just going to be down in the dumps and completely raining on his parade. Why do I have to be so rubbish?
